Hypnosis tapes - your thoughts?

Okay, so I"ve come to realize, my not wanting to work out, is me being lazy and anxiety issues. I seriously have been thinking about hypnosis to help me get past that, but I'm sure the cost is high. I just saw this.....

http://www.tomnicoli.com/wl-pkg.shtml?OVRAW=weight%20loss%20hypnosis&OVKEY=weight%20loss%20hypnosis&OVMTC=standard#order

and it says he was on Dateline and Shape gave it 5 stars.

Has anyone ever tried hypnosis with tapes, or in person? Has it worked? What do you find are drawbacks, etc?

I know with hyponsis, it's not a one time shot, you have to keep going back to reinforce it. so you have to do "sessions".

Anyhow, thoughts? I'm getting desperate, because I know it's more of a "failure" mentality and "anxiety" versus anything else.

Hope you get some repsonses, I'd love to know more too! If you end up doing this you will have to let me know how it goes. If I had the extra cash I'd splurge and try it myself. I hate being broke! lol Need to find some stuff for money management as well. Doh! Heck could work hand in hand. "YOU WILL NOT SPEND MONEY ON THOSE FRITOS"

Oh, that was funny. Do not spend money on Fritos. Good one. :) I hear ya. I dunno. I need something to MAKE me wanna do this, and yet, I dunno. lol.

I read the story about the people and their reunion (they got to choose their diet), this one guy chose hypnosis, and was working well, but he stopped listening to the tapes, and therefore, his weight loss kick ended. But one session with the hypnotist and he was back on track again.

Like I said, it is a series of sessions. I guess, as long as I'm motivated to listen to the tapes, it should work. If I'm not, then I think it'd go down the drain.

I'm still thinking about that clinic. I keep wondeirng how much it is. If you wanna look that up, it's called www.positivechanges.com I think it's all over the place too, although, much more expensive i'm sure.

Has it worked? Don't know anyone who has...

What do you find are drawbacks, etc? Again, no idea....

Sorry Cher- not much help here at all. But would be interested in hearing more about it. Not sure if I'd try it though...not sure why either, lol!

Okay well no one I know has tried it for weight loss, but I know that my sister, my dad and myself all tried it for smoking.

My sister and Dad actually went to a registered hypnosis and had sessions in his office - and sure enough they are now non-smokers!

Okay, that was the most hilarious post ever. Um, can't say you helped, but at least I know you haven't tried it, and may never try it, but wanna know results if I try it. lol.

Thanks for the support though.

Wow, the first post of someone who's tried it. So, don't do mass hypnosis, but make sure it's one-on-one if I choose that path. I also have no clue how receptive I am, however, this clinic will see how much you are and let you know. If they're honest, they won't try it if you're not receptive. But who knows.

I will keep you all posted. I think I may call them, as I don't know when I'll hear from them. I'll prolly do this tomorrow, as I am home...and can make it w/o my co-workers hearing me. lol.

RE: I also have no clue how receptive I am

I know I'm pretty receptive, maybe I'll see if the library has a CD or something. I'm so receptive to suggestion. This is a true story. I use to hear someone having the hiccups and I'd automatically think to myself, "well now I'm gonna get them!" sure enough later that day I'd have the hiccups. Took a general

Okay. I just signed up for a free consultation at the local hypnosis clinic. The appointment is next Tuesday evening. >This should be interesting. They'll talk about what hypnosis is, how it works, etc. Then see if I am receptive. If I am, we'll go over how many sessions I'd need, and how much the service will cost.

I'll keep you guys piosted. lol.

BTW, I got to the gym, then K called me and asked if I wanted to eat lunch, so I went to lunch. But hey, I got there. Doesn't that count?
