Asian-izing diets?

Hi all,

I've been looking over a lot of diets and their recommended recipes. I've been raised on Asian vegetarian fare (with almost no dairy) and haven't developed a taste for all the smoothies, yogurts / cheeses, salads, etc that more westernized diets seem to be pushing. And even the books on so-called "Asian diets" seem to Americanize the recipes to accomodate the readers in this country.

- Has anyone come across a diet that gives a more traditional Asian way of eating?
- For diets such as South Beach and Denise Austin's eating program, can I adjust recipes by substituting ingredients (to make it more Asian veg-friendly) without compromising the diet itself?

Thanks for any info you can give.

First of all welcome to the board!!

I'm not clear on what you would be substituting.
