er um, or at least from the top of the board. I was going to put it in my journal, but I wanted to put it up here.

Ladies, as I was talking to Steffy yesterday, I talked about how I was maybe going to go check out the apartment gym at 9pm. I knew it was late, however, it may be late enough that no one is there. AND I figured, if there isn't anyone there, and I worked out...I'd have to survive tomorrow at work, and I could rest Friday (I'm off).

Well, K walked me down there, I asked him too go with me for support and the sort. And no one was there!!! So, I ran intervals (walk 1.5/run 1.0) for 20 mins (10 min warm up/cool down). It's now 10:30, I'm relaxing so I can go to bed, but..........

I am so very proud of myself. I don't think I can go with everyone else there, and I kinda liked going at night. Especially since I'm more of a night owl. K and I agreed we should check it out next week, at 15 min intervals. So, monday, go at 8:45, tuesday at 8:30, etc. until we can figure out how early I can go, and miss the crowd. I figure, this way, I can eat dinner, do a few things, and then go work out. Come back, shower, relax then go to sleep.

Hey, it's something, and the pressure is less if there isn't many ppl there. A couple walked in, and then another guy, but by that point, I was in my own zone and didn't care. I think I have more of a problem walking IN while ppl are there.

My feet are sore, my legs are sore, but I feel good about what I did. Now, I just need to keep it up. lol. I'm going to try tomorrow around 8:45, and I'm off Friday, so I may go in the morning if I'm not really tired. Or try a yoga tape I have.

Ladies, I finally went. My key worked, I got on the treadmill and did intervals. I'm so proud. LOL.

It's all about finding the time that works for you. I do know what you mean about being there alone. There's the insecurity thing with me, but I'm having to get over that a bit because the only places to go for walk/jog in my new city is on the street or at the HS track and there are always at least some people around. Still, I feel like my workout time is my time and I really want to be left alone. That's not the case at Hap Ki Do, of course, adds a bit of variety, but if I'm doing a walk/jog or yoga or weights then I want my space. I was alone almost all the time when I used the hotel's

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

I know that finding a quiet time in that gym has been a struggle for you, so I'm sooo happy you finally found a good time for you!

Woo Hoo good for you Cher!!! Take advantage of the momentum your starting to create and remember how great you felt about things once you were done. Hope you can get in there a little earlier so you have more unwinding time afterwards.

Thanks. And I am seeing what works for me, and what doesn't. Walking into a room full of people, doesn't work. Walking into an empty room and having it fill up, works. I think tonight, I'm going to check it out at 8:45, see how it is. I also noticed, having K walk me there makes me feel better. Even though he doesn't stay. lol. He goes home to sleep.

LOL. Escort. K said, "I feel bad, I'm walking you here, so I can go back to the apt and go to bed". lol. I said, "well, we can see if it's open at 8pm and you can come walk with me". lol. Not sure if he would, he could stand to lose a few.

And yeah, leave me alone. lol. Boy, the mirrored walls, I hate that. I can see how fat I got. lol.

Oh, and there's two light switches. I turned on off, not so blindingly bright as much. I turned off the second. Oops, pitch black. I didn't feel comfy making it that dark (cuz then ppl will wonder WTF, lol) so I left one on. No one seemed to care or notice.

Yup, just trying to remember how I felt afterwards......like the satisfaction of doing something and the endorphins racing. :) Also.....I went to bed at midnight, although I fell asleep very fast. boy was I exhausted this morning, but I feel good now. :) I know exercise can give me more energy, so maybe I won't need quite as much sleep. But I'm with you, I want to get in there earlier, preferly around 8pm if possible. :)

Good for you! I don't like walking into a gym full of people either (in fact, I'm downright afraid of it). Evening sounds like a perfect time to get in a quiet workout! Keep it up!

I'm downright afraid to. I think I almost get panic attacks. So bad, so of course I know that feeling. lol.

Good for you! As they say "showing up is half the battle". I feel like that sometimes, and then drag myself to the gym, and end up having a great workout. It's great that you found a time that works for you, and gets you in the groove before others show up. I'm betting that after a while, even if you get there after others, you won't care so much as you'll be focused on how GOOD your workout makes you feel! Best of luck to you! Keep going!
