This has turned into one of my "new year resolutions" I think trying to find those answers for those things that I'm just not willing to give up no matter how much I want to.
What *other* activities do you consider alternative exercises? (ie. cleaning, taking the stairs, etc) While doing the SI6 walking is my alternative exercise. Or whatever is causing me to miss a SI6 workout needs to be a physical activity. This weekend just happened to be walking because of the Relay for Life.
What foods do you substitute for the *bad* ones? (ie. for that sweet craving that suddenly grabs your attention) Diet soda and water I won't drink my calories unless it's a Slim Fast shake. Lays light chips for real chips (ha! I still eat bad ones occasionally), Bags of the mini type candy bars instead of the full size candy bars.
What other *alternatives* do you have to share with us? (ie. using splenda rather than sugar) Think some of my answers are in the above question.
What *other* activities do you consider alternative exercises? Hmmm, stairs at work, walking in general (I always wear a pedometer), housework but only if it's serious housework, not just dusting, etc.!! LOL
What foods do you substitue for the *bad* ones? Hmmm, okay I'm actually really bad for this one.
What *other* activities do you consider alternative exercises? I would consider going to the pool with my daughter every night an alternative. She's a water baby...
What foods do you substitue for the *bad* ones? I like the mini cheddar rice cakes to subsitute for chips
What other *alternatives* do you have to share with us? I can't think of anything else.
What *other* activities do you consider alternative exercises? (ie. cleaning, taking the stairs, etc)
Well I'm pretty lame, I figure if I am active for more than 10mins at a time, be it gardening, on a walking leisurely walk; it COUNTS! So really most things, lol
What foods do you substitute for the *bad* ones? (ie. for that sweet craving that suddenly grabs your attention)
'Baked' chips- Any of the '100' calorie packs- Diet soda's
What other *alternatives* do you have to share with us? (ie. using splenda rather than sugar)
When I need sugar now I use 'splenda', cut down to 2% milk, rarely have 'full' soda's, have found popcorn a great 'treat' for snacks!
What *other* activities do you consider alternative exercises?Walking when I can, instead of immediately hopping into the car.
What foods do you substitue for the *bad* ones? I have substituted multi-grain Wheat Thins for chips, so I'm getting whole grain ( + more fiber and less fat than chips). I've substituted Kashi bars for cookies. My favorite is honey & flax. It doesn't sound good but I think they're delicious! They have a good amount of protein too.
What other *alternatives* do you have to share with us? Currently I am trying to replace diet soda with water. (Although diet soda is better than regular of course! But I feel I'm addicted to diet soda.)
What *other* activities do you consider alternative exercises? (ie. cleaning, taking the stairs, etc) Cleaning out rooms at our house is definitely exercise, especially the ones' that haven't been touched since DH's X moved out over six years ago. We're running out of those rooms now, thank God, but I still have to carry the vacuum up the stairs to do our room and our bathroom. Planting is also good exercise.
What foods do you substitue for the *bad* ones? (ie. for that sweet craving that suddently grabs your attention) We had Terra Chips a few weeks ago instead of regular chips. They're all natural and supposed to be about 40% lower in fat than regular chips. They are good, but I try not to eat them too often. I also like sesame sticks from our local Co-Op when I need something salty. They too are all natural, made with wheat flour. I'm not too good at the sweets thing; when I need sweets, I just have some real chocolate, maybe one piece of Godiva, key lime truffle or something. Having some quality chocolate also helps to curb that craving quicker. One piece works.
What other *alternatives* do you have to share with us? (ie. using splenda rather than sugar) I use wheat blend angel hair pasta for hot dishes, wheat blend sprial for pasta salad and wheat blend noodles in soup now. My friend has said that the spinach pasta is good too. I'll try that soon. I have also taken a liking to baked sweet potatoes instead of white ones. I try to use brown rice instead of white rince now too.
Great questions!
