Always a good reminder!
There is good reason for the old adage that it is best to eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper. Making time for a healthy breakfast sets the stage for healthy eating throughout the day. For most people, breakfast time comes at least 8 hours after their previous meal. So, in essence, while sleeping you have also been "fasting." In fact, the word itself, when broken down, means to "break a fast." When you wake up in the morning your blood sugar may be low, and you may feel hungry.
Eating a breakfast that contains a good source of protein and complex carbohydrates will allow your blood sugar to rise at a steady pace throughout the morning and provide your cells with the energy they need to carry out your morning activities. Now a recent study shows that starting the day specifically with an egg breakfast rather than another food, even if it has the same calorie count, not only provides a good source of protein but it is more likely to lead to weight loss in overweight people! This is because the egg induces greater satiety. In fact eggs have been found to have a 50% higher satiety index than regular breakfast cereals. One study shows that those who eat eggs for breakfast consume 164 calories less for lunch and 400 calories less over the next 36 hours. So is breakfast really the most important meal? We would answer with an resounding - yes!

Thanks!
