Joy or determination?

What is your exercise of choice?
What keeps you going there...
the pure joy of it?
or
the determination to reach a specific goal/point/level?
Go.

Walking is my exercise of choice and I do it to reach a specific goal (lose weight, get/keep toned and allow me to indulge in some not-so-healthy food choices every once in awhile)

First off, welcome!
Good question....
My exercise of choice is walking, I guess my main motivation for it is goals. But I also enjoy getting out there, however I don't think 'Oh, I'll go for a nice walk', it's more like 'Get out there and do it damn it!!!' LOL

Welcome to the board!

I've been loving the treadclimber. Unfortunately, so does everyone else, so it's always busy! It burns a ton of calories but it doesn't make my lungs feel like they're going to explode (like running does)

Part of it is just habit. Part of it is my DH saying "why didn't you go to the gym tonight?" if I skip (not in a bad way, he just wonders if I'm not feeling well or something) and I just don't have a good reason. Part of it is determination and reminding myself how good I feel after a workout. If I skip a day, I find that I"m just tired and want to lay around. If I work out, I have tons of energy, am happier, and just more pleasant to be around. I think it's a great stress reliever and 'Me' time. Sometimes after work it's really hard to go cuz I just want to go home and nap, but after I make it to the gym, I find I have lots of energy and can just keep going!
