Hi Everyone,
I was lurking here so long, I jumped in w/o introduction myself (*blush*)
About 4 yrs ago, I discovered I had become an exercise addict. I know it sounds crazy, I didn't think there was such a thing. I started off riding my bicycle to work. Then I moved 20 miles and keep riding. I didn't feel a "rush" from it anymore, so I added going to the gym right after the ride (before work). After a while, I started getting used to that...so I added boxing 3x/week (I cycled there and back too). I got to a point where I was cycling 200 miles week and exercising for almost 30 hours week. Usually, I was an active dater but my love life was starting to deteriorate. My gfs pointed the lack of time (with all the exercise) so I bought a commuter train pass and stopped cycling. Like an IDIOT, I stopped cold turkey from the cycling. Within 1 week, I had an uncontrolable "vomiting" (sorry if that TMI) problem. It went on for 26 days of hell. I stopped all exercise. I went from feeling absolutely fantastic to feeling completely awful within 2 months. I lost lots of weight.
Now, I have a wonderful fiance and we both like exercise. We pass a ball around in the park or play floor hockey on some abandon concrete. Last year, I joined ice hockey and I am in LOVE. I can't get enough. I play on 2 teams...and I also play soccer. No cycling tho I miss my bicycle riding (my first love) I'm kind of afraid. I'm not quite sure where "enough" is. I do know playing hockey and soccer that I'm not in very good shape compared to where I was before...and I lose my breath in soccer faster than most of the women.
So...I'd like to step it up and get in better shape...without going overboard.
Thats my story.
Thanks for reading this far!
Go.

Oh my gosh what a story. We often talk about sharing and redistributing lbs. This would be something that would be nice too. Give some of your desire to exercise to the rest of us leaving you a little less likely to go overboard!
It's just torture for me to get myself moving! I'm either trying to talk myself into a work out or coming up with excuses not to. lol
I'm thinking your finance will help you keep some balance in your life. Some of us have to convince ourselves that exercise is doing something for ourselves to be healthy etc. Maybe you need to think of sitting down and watching some TV or reading a book is the thing you need to take time for.
Nice to meet you, good luck and hope your enthusiasm will rub off on me.
An official welcome back at ya ;-)
What a story, I can totally see where you could go overboard with working out and losing interest in other areas of your life, glad to see you are back on track now.
Wishing you success in gaining balance in all areas of life. This board is filled with wonderful women trying to do the same thing. Looking forward to having you here with us :-)

Hey Go, welcome to the board (officially) LOL.
Hi Go, I'm sure you've seen me on other boards too. :) Cuz I've seen you. Dang, sounds like I'm stalking you. I'm not, I promise!!!! lol
anyhow, like some others, I was shocked at your bodies reaction to stopping the exercise. wow!!! that's kinda scary. i wonder if that's typical.
I'm glad you're hear, trying to tone up, get some of your cardio back, and finding that balance in your life.
And as always, congrats on your engagement. When's the official day?
It was
Yes, I know you! I just responded to one of your posts on another board...nice to see you :)
We still have 5 weeks to go, Sept 23rd. Dang resort - the earliest we could book was 14 months so we've had a long engagement.
I didn't know you were into fitness? Cool!
Go.
Thanks for the thoughts. I do get my gfs out even tho they aren't into exercise. They tell me my love of it makes it more fun for them. To be honest, its not the exercise so much as I like playing games. I love all sports. Then I like hiking & cycling bc I love the fresh air, the scenery and the feeling of euphoria :)
Go.
Hmm...good questions! How many hours now? I'd say about 5-6 hours. I do weights & sit ups at home, swimming, golf & kicking/tossing balls around in the park w/DF.
I thought about going to the gym to get in shape for the wedding but DF veto'd me. He suggested I let myself "go to pot" for the wedding so I'm in drinking/eating shape for the honeymoon, LOL.
Thanks for asking,
Go.
Where are you getting married? Destination? Or just at a resort?
I'm not so much into fitness, as I am tryign to make it a part of my life. :) for good.
