Sorry guys I just have to vent. I have been watching what I eat and exercising since January of this year. I lost 16 pounds by June of this year then we went to vacation to Mexico and I gained 5 pounds on vacation, I figured I would and was not that bummed about it. I have been working out since july 5 when we came back, and eating about 1500-1700 calories a day drinking my water and exercising 4 times a week. I Have now changed it to working out 8 times a week for an hour, I am living at the gym an hour in the morning and hour in the afternoon and I'm still the same weight well actually up 1/2 pound.

Hmmm, that is frustrating! Have you checked your measurements? I really have no clue why this would be the case with as much as your working out.

Do you think you're eating too FEW calories? Sometimes, your body won't do anythign, if it thinks you're starving it. and buy exercising so much, and not eating enough...could maybe do it.

Can you instead include weight training sessions? Maybe your body is used to the exercise and either 1. needs somethign new, or 2. you need to up the intensity, NOT the time.

astly, sometimes our bodies stop losing weight, because it knows it doesn't need to. of course, measure yourself, you could've built more muscle than fat, so you can't burn that off. or don't want to. weight is a number, and not something you should really go by to determine if you're "losing weight". how's the clothes fit? still tight? do you feel more fit? more strong? and again, maybe you're overdoing it.

I'm just throwing things out there, btw. :) Hugs. I know its hard.

I hear you! I wonder, too, if maybe you're eating too few calories, for all the working out you're doing, and your body is in semi-starvation mode? Hang in there ...

Sorry to hear all this Rainey, and you'd been doing so well. If I were you I would look at measuring, like the others said. Also you could get someone at the gym to do that body fat % test on you. The ladies before me had some worthwhile ideas....so I really just wanted to add some support and a big.....

first of all thank you all for wonderfuls words. I have not taken my measurements but my clothes feel the same. Its only been a two weeks since I started doubling up on the exercise, prior to that i ws doing 4 times a week for an hour now its double. I do weight traning 2 times a week, on machines or free weights. As for eating a typical day is coffee and roll in the morning 250 calories, lunch turkey sandwich 250 cal, kids size chips 140 cal and 1/2 of a coke 100 cal. Dinner Chicken breast and rice or two tacos tens to be around 700 cal. End of the day 1450-1600 calories. As for the doctors they are so condescing, I say I'm trying to lose weight oh just cut back and eat healthy and exercise, I am oh well just keep trying be patient nothing wrong with you.

My goal weight is 147 I'm at 178 and i'm 5 '5 so I don't think I'm going to any extreme.
Only thing I can think of is maybe I will see a drop next week as my body willl catch up to what I'm doing? Who knows just throwing things out there, I really appreciate all the suport and help, its helps to vent

Calorie wise looks good Rainey, however it seems that most of your calories are coming later in the day. That could be the issue. What time of day do you workout? (I think it was morning and later that evening?) Could be that you don't have enough calorie intake during the course of the day to sustain all that exercise, kwim?

I stumbled upon a great article the other day on breakfast, but am short on time this morning. I'll look for it later......
