Hey girls:
Well, I'm finally back and ready to brave the saddle once more. So much has happened the last few months I don't even know where to begin.
To start, I have been itching to leave Phoenix for so long, that I FINALLY did it. I just moved to Portland, OR two weeks ago and started work for Wells Fargo. I love it up here. So nice and the weather is PERFECT. I can actually go outside and not burn up! My son is still in Phoenix, but will be here on Saturday. I can't wait. I miss him so.
I have been on and off of taking physical and mental care of myself. The transition from Phoenix to Portland was a lot more work than I planned and my health has had to take a back seat, but no more. I swear, I've had more fruits and vegetables in the last two weeks than I've had in the last six months! NO LIE. I don't know what it is about this place but I actually "feel" healthier.
I love my new job. I work for an Exec. VP in Operations. My cubicle is completely covered by a window on one side, and the street we're on has a little dog parade each afternoon. It's a group that trains seeing eye dogs so they march by each afternoon and I just can't get enough of it!
Anyway, that's just the tip, but it's enough. I just want to start posting again and really get in tune with my health.
It's good to see so many "old" faces and so many new ones!

Hello there stranger.....wonderful to see you again :-)
Things do sound like they've kept you busy over the past couple of months, but it seems that you're settled now, and happy (I could almost see a smile through your words), and ready to get on with some healthy living. It will be great to have you back on 'board' with us!

Kerstin!
Thanks guys. It's actually really great to be back.
Yes, Joey is 14 and most days is excited about the move, but you know, being a teenager and all, he gets moody about it. Although not quite as bad as two years ago when we first talked about doing this. So that's good. He's applying for an Arts high school up here so we're just waiting to see if he's accepted. Should know next week. They don't start school up here until Sept. 6 so we have a week to work on it.
I couldn't do Phoenix anymore. The heat was just draining. But here it's so nice I feel like being outside all the time! I have found two really cool hiking trails and I'm really getting in to that. Plus with all the fresh food, there's always healthy eating right in front of me. And fast food restaurants are few and far between, at least where I am, so that helps too!
So now I'm just looking forward to posting again and getting some great tips and motivation! I only have a computer for a few hours during the day, and not on weekends, so I won't be super "posty" until my computer arrives. But once it does, LOOK OUT! lol
