So ladies I'm curious, I know quite a few of you have tried different videos and workouts, and some of you are doing the Slim in 6.

Shucks - I should have checked this from home rather than work. I guess I can add to the post later though when I have all my DVDs in front of me. lol Better yet - I think each night as I do a new dvd I'll just add to the post so I can have a review "fresh in my mind"
The dvd on my mind is the one I did last night that I think I posted about previously by Prevention:
Name of Video: "Walk Yourself Fit"
Price (or close to): $14.95
Length: 3 different workouts to choose from each about 24-28 minutes
Difficulty Rating: Easy/Intermediate - I can get through one pretty easily when I'm crumched for time, but usually try to combine 2 to get a "good" workout in when I have the time
Overall Rating: 4 out of 5 (I just wish they had longer walks - they are either 1 mile or 1 1/2 miles to choose from)
Any other comments: Although there are 3 different routines, the moves are basically the same. I would liked to have a little more variety in each...

Okay - tonight's workout DVD was:
Name of Video: Cardio Burn Weight Loss
Price (or close to): 10 bucks!
Length: 48 min
Difficulty Rating: Easy/Intermediate
Overall Rating: 4 Out of 5
Any other comments: It's a pretty good cardio dvd. It has 3 10 min walking sessions that includes 2 min of weights at the end of each session. It gets my blood pumping! The last 10 min of stretching is kind of boring to me (but effective)

Thanks Vanessa - I am a big fan of the GAIAM videos!
Wow, a lot of great suggestions here! I'm definitely going to try some of these.
Here's my favorite DVD:
Name of Video: Wailana Yoga Beginners Workout
Price (or close to): $14.95
Length: 45 minutes
Difficulty Rating: Although it's
Okay, last night's dvd workout was:
Name of Video: Prevention's 321 workout
Price (or close to): $14.95
Length: 49 min
Difficulty Rating: Easy/Intermediate
Overall Rating: 3 of 5
Any other comments: It's supposed to be an all-in-one workout where you do 3 minutes of cardio, 2 minutes of toning and then 1 minute of core strenthing in 6 different intervals. The cardio is good but, personally by the time its time to do the 2 min of toning I'm still breathing heavily from the cardio. lol You won't be bored by this workout as you're kind of all over the place working everything out and it is probably effective, I just need to get in better shape to keep up ;-)

Great suggestions ladies!!!
Since I cued up my Netflix account and will be having tons of new DVDs coming, thought I would dig up this post and rate the ones that I try:
Name of Video: Denise Austin: Blast Away 10 Pounds (2000)
Price (or close to): n/a (Netflix)
Length: 45 min
Difficulty Rating: Easy/Intermediate/Advanced - Intermediate
Overall Rating: 4 of 5
Any other comments - Well, y'all probably know how I feel about Denise Austin (annoying as all get up but I like her workouts - its this love/hate thing I've got going with her lol). This workout had some tricky choreography that I stumbled through for a few min., but overall it's a great cardio/kickboxing workout. (I think after a few more attempts I'll be able to get the steps down though!) My arms were still sore when I got to work!

Thanks Vanessa!!
Name of Video 3 from the Slim Series
Cool It Off (stretching and stabilizing)
Tone it Up (split upper and lower body)
Firm it Up (lower body)
Price (or close to) These were included in my Slim Series 6 workouts total for $75
Length: About 1 hour each
Difficulty Rating: Easy/Intermediate/Advanced: Easy/intermediate
Overall Rating: Out of 5 5/5
Any other comments (the woman is too perky for words, the music is atrocious, LOL) These are pretty good. If you are just starting these they are going to be a little tough depending on your fitness level but it you can do what you can. March in place when you need to rest etc.
I think this is as close as you can get to having a personal trainer. She gives strength and cardio in almost every workout. She does do some repeat type stuff from other workouts but typically there is a good variety so you don't get board and work the muscles a little differently.
