We haven't had a chance to catch up lately. Let's meet for lunch.
Meet you in town for supper?
Let's get out of the house. Want to go have an icecream.
The weeks finally over. Let's grab a beer. Split an order of mushrooms (fried & breaded) with you?
I made brownies! Aren't you going to have one? I thought they were your favorite?

All my friends and family do is get together and eat! And yes most of them are fat (except my husband who can and does eat anything). How do you get together without eating what they are eating? Without seeming judgemental of far more overweight friends and relatives. Without feeling left out?

I am actually the opposite. I eat more in my own home. I eat very little at others homes or picnics. I usually get one tiny plate. Everyone pushes me to eat more but I dont. Not sure why I'm like that. I go to bars with my best friend every now and then. I dont eat at all in bars. I only drink 2 beers. I do eat more at restaurants, but rarely go to them. So I would be skinny if I could go to get togethers every day! My family doesnt usually do family dinners. They do like picnics in the summer. What I do to avoid seeming judgemental is find others at the picnic who are not eating at the present time, like those playing games etc. and get too busy doing someting else.

Family and friends who you normally have been getting together and eating with may take more time to adjust to your new eating habits.

First off, welcome to you, and to mom_miss_k! I'm down in the VI and so our usual thing is to meet for 'beers'.....most of the time though I have to say friends are understandable if I refuse them. Personally I don't think friends should be judgmental of each other. If you decide to eat healthy- that's your choice. It's up to them what they want to eat, and we shouldn't be judgmental of that either ;-)

SOMETIMES I can actually get together without eating too horrible... but USUALLY I have to plan the day and be REALLY good and workout during the day and indulge a little in the evenings. Good luck to you!
