When a slump hits what do you do to "wake" yourself up?

Yes... I hit "afternoon" slumps all of the time... Mostly because of my shift work.

I usually go to the coffee room the long way and get myself a cup of tea.

Not sure if I really do have a remedy for the slumps, it's usually too hot for a coffee at that point in the day. I probably guzzle some water or have a snack. I'll have to pay a little more attention the next time it hits!

Do you know what triggers them for you?
If I haven't had

- Walk to the water cooler and get COLD water (I prefer room temperature)

Do you know what triggers them for you?

- Usually nonactivity - if it's a slow day at work and I'm not going a million different directions OR if I eat a heavy/carb loaded lunch lol

Do you suffer from them often?

- Fortunately, NO - I'm usually so swamped (is that a good or bad thing?) that I don't think about being tired until I sit in traffic

It used to be coffee. But I wanted to cut it back. My new drink is Gingsen tea. It has no coffeeine, no calories. But I feel energetic after drinking it.

Do you know what triggers them for you?
Most times, it's caused by lack of sleep. Sometimes, heavy lunch is the culprit.

Do you suffer from them often?
Not really often.

Usually I have my mid-afternoon snack at about 2:30 or 3, which helps wake me up.

Ya'll may think I'm crazy but I have always been a fan of the flavor of parsley and I find that it's a great appitite suppressant! I've been known to keep a bunch of the leafy greens in the crisper of my office fridge! when I want to munch on something i wash a few sprigs and munch them down- within a few minutes i'm no longer hungry! The flavor and crunch is something I find to be very satisfying and I'm guilt free because it's so healthy! If you like the tast you might give it a try!

Thanks for that tip.....I always think of parsley as just a garnish. Oh, and welcome to the board!!
