Suggestions for targeting stomach

I'm looking for tips and suggestions to achieve a flatter stomach. This is not something new for me, I am just at the point where I'm ready to do something about it.

I have a thin frame (5' 4") and have been Blessed with good genes. However, ever since I started puberty, I've always had a "pouch". I have never had a flat stomach and can't figure out how celebrities, fitness experts and musicians do.

Does anyone know if sugar can be related to heaviness around the middle? I've seen articles about women who have an apple shape are at higher risk for diabetes, heart disease and strokes. My mom has Type 2 diabetes and this is a concern for me.

Is anyone working with a nutritionist? How do I find one?

Thanks,
Susan

(seeking her shapelyness again)
