Christmas Party

Oh great. So my DH's Christmas (holiday) party is coming up on Dec. 2. Whoa, that's WAY early. Which basically gives me 4.5 weeks to lose some weight. I would love to be able to fit in my outfit that I wore to Vegas last year. But that means, losing about 18lbs in 4 weeks.

I'm not sure if I should be exercising or not, due to my accident, however, I feel okay. I mean, my neck is stiff a bit, but not even as bad as sleeping on it bad. lol. I figure, I could always use those stationary bikes (the one at the gym, is more of a sit-back type, versus a real bike).

So, what're your thoughts. Will I have to be super good on food, and exercise like a madwoman to lose that pounds? And is it doable? at least for this? I would love to run, however, I'm not sure if I should yet. I don't want the pounding to mess me up (and not know it).

Thoughts? Advice? This could be a really good jumpstart. Which, btw, I still have yet to read the challenge.

I agree with the others that if you start eating healthy and exercising your going to feel a whole lot better about yourself. Even if you don't lose all the weight you can sure get a good start on it, and start feel good and healthy. I also have a diet plan called 39 days to skinny if your interested in it.

Cher-

I haven't even read the other posts yet but PLEASE DON'T TRY TO DO IT! Trying to lose all that weight right now is going to put some serious stress on you mentally and physically and you have just been through a HORRIBLE accident. 18 pounds in 4 weeks can't be healthy for you. Take it easy, follow the Dr.'s advice and girl - go out and find a FABULOUS outfit for this year's party!

Please be careful!

Again, thanks everyone. I think a few of you gave the best advice, which was to sit on this, and rest up. I really was losing it last night. Basically, Dh wasn't helping me, and I was totally overwhelmed. I mean, people wondered how I went to school on Tuesday night after the accident. Or even how I worked all week (only took off time to go to the Doc's). I had an exam on Tuesday, and was up early that morning studying for it. Nuts, I know. I guess, I was just going going going without really thinking twice about it, and BAM, it just all came crashing down around me. I mean, things are going well, but emotionally, I just crashed. And I posted that up above.

I know I can't lose 18 and shouldn't even try. Oh, to top it off, I counted again, it's 3.5 weeks, not even 4. lol. So forget it. All I'm going to do is try to recover from the accident. I don't know what we'll do about buying clothes for the event, as we're not going to have a lot of money after we buy a new car. :( On the upside, if I stick to my basic black that I love so much, I have a great pair of shoes. :)

My DH's co-worker and friend, who we hang out with sometimes, his gf is freaking out too, about weight loss. So, at least I don't feel alone. It doesn't help that the women at the parties are usually "ho-ish" lol. But at least I have an ally. lol.

So, I think I'm back to "reality" and I do wanna lose the weight. K left it up to me if I'm feeling up to the party or not. He said he knows how I feel and respects that, and isn't going to force me to go somewhere where I'll just feel even worse. That made me feel good.

I'm back to eating well, I'm going to check with my chiro about what exercises I can do, and try to do that. I guess, you can say the accident screwed things up even more. Ugh. it's always something. I can't see me running that 5k either. I'll need to talk to him too about that. Bleah. this sucks.

Cher, I had to laugh at the ho-ish girls at the party. I hate that! But if you have an ally great - you can mock them all night long together. LOL

That's wonderful that K is being so supportive. You are smart to check with the doc as to what you can and can't do. Hope you are well on the road to recovery this week!

Plus Black is always a slimming color, easy to wear, looks elegant, and if you have a great pair of shoes, I'm sure you will look fabulous!
