Wow, willpower is your middle name! You aren't going to let one little holiday slow down all the progress you've been making on your diet. You'll be sticking with the healthiest choices on the table and using a few tricks (like eating breakfast so you aren't starving come dinner) to keep yourself on track.

After only just deciding to hold T'Giving dinner here (and currently have 19 on the list- YikES) I went and did the Thanksgiving Quiz also. Here's what my results are:

MAYBE
The sight of pumpkin pie tempts you to forget your diet entirely, but you know you and your diet can survive Thanksgiving together! It's just going to take a little extra attention to your eating habits. To stay on track, be sure to eat breakfast and a few healthy appetizers so you aren't ravenous when you sit down for the big meal, and sneak in a quick workout to boost your metabolism and suppress your appetite. Skip seconds (don't worry, there will be leftovers!) and opt for healthier choices like skinless white meat whenever possible.

Some good tips there for me to keep in mind!

I can't see the site you listed (wah!), but I found some "low carb", healthy alternatives for some holiday favorites...

I'm cooking, so I plan on trying them out this year!

Not even sure what's on the menu yet Miranda!!

You know down here so many of us have family elsewhere so it really is nice when someone does something for whatever holiday. Myself and BC were talking about what we were going, or rather where we were going (LOL) for T'giving the other night. Last year we did it at his place and had 12 there-- myself and his old roommate did most of the cooking.

Nobody has mentioned anything this year, so we figured 'why not?'....now I'm thinking 'why here?' LOL.......

That's a great thing the YMCA offers, I love that idea :-)

The fauxtatoes sound really good Dawn- might be something I'll try at another time. Most who are on the 'list' right now will want the real deal!

There's only one vegan on my list, I may have to enlist him for help on what he'd like!! I know how difficult it is to find things w/out some sort of meat product!

Good luck with your 15! Are they all definite? Ours is waaayyyyy up in the air still, and the likelihood of all or even most showing up is slim. We'll probably have about 10 or so.

Wow I didn't expect that answer, especially because I picked to have a little of all the desserts. I typically don't like some things like dark meat and mashed potatos so I think that saved me. I make up for it with the dessert tray though :) I can't believe you are having 19 over. I guess you are gonna have a PARTY! Sounds fun. If we lived closer to all our family we would have a bunch of people too. But it's usually just us, the folks, and the neighbors...not too bad.
