I really do not know what I have got myself into... as I cannot stand running, and it is certainly not one of my strengths or talents.... I was invited to join a team and I asked my dd if she wanted to do it, she said "sure mom! If we can run two miles we can certainly run 3.1!" Great.... she doesn't seem to remember how miserable I was running those two miles with her.

Good for you Darcy- and I see it's only 25 days away-- I'm sure you'll do just great, and how wonderful that your dd is doing it too!

Come on over and join us!

What a great opportunity to do the race with your DD!! You are going to do great, and while running may not make your top 10 of favorite activities, you will feel great afterwards!

No excuse..... it's also a walk and they allow strollers. I'm not sure how old your daughter is, but they also have a 1k dash with the elves for kids under 8!

Hey good for you. You're daughter is likely right. If you can do two miles you will be able to do it; even if you don't run the whole thing, you know you'll finish no problem.

I don't do the milage "they" say one should be doing on a weekly basis and I've done three 5k's this year. The race experience is great, and it does carry you along. I have always run better on race days than when I'm out there alone running.

I have gotten to the point where i am beginning to enjoy it. I remember when I started thinking that I should be able to run if I'm in HKD and in decent shape. Wrong. Running is a totally different thing, as it sounds like you know. But I really am beginning to like my runs and am looking toward adding some distance.

Anyway, these events really are great, especially when they're for a good cause. You'll feel awesome afterwards.

Good luck and enjoy crossing the finish line.
