There are some foods out there that advertise themselves as being a good thing...but when you delve in a little deeper you find out the truth about them.I'm sure most of you are aware and steer clear of many of these, but thought it was a good reminder to all of us!

Darnit, wouldn't you know that we can't even rely on lables anymore! LOL I mean if the "Healthy" food isn't even healthy, where on earth do you go?

I guess the safest bet is to eat what you make, or what you grow! :-)

I'm so glad I know all this. But always a good refresher. :) I stay away from certain types of salads, and I LOVE parfait, but yeah, granola is healthy, but heavy on the fat and calories.

It's funny, I sit there and watch K eat a salad as I'm munching on a burger. And I tell him, I bet you, your salad has more fat and calories than my burger. Usually because he'll order a Ranch Chicken salad. So, it has chicken, ranch dressing, cheeses, etc on it. VERY unhealthy. lol.

I read that the Asian Chicken (grilled) at McD's is pretty healthy. I like it. It has edamame in it. :)

Thanks for the heads up on the Asian Chicken at McDs. I'm always hesitant to try the salads at fast food places I'll give this one a try.

What I'm Reading!

I have even heard that some labels are actually inaccurate. The local news did a story and they took different things and had them analyzed by a lab and they found that some were mislabeled by as much as an extra 100 calories a serving! I am with you...unless you make it yourself you never know. Even at restaurants I think they add an extra pat of butter every now and then or a bit more sugar to their "healthy" alternatives.
