No decorations or trees up yet at our house. But had to say, we have two LARGE cats, 20 lbs and 16 lbs, and they both like climbing our christmas tree!

Well Ann, my intention was to put up the small tree to see how the cats faired with it, but as it turns out I seem to have 'lost' the legs for it!! LOL-- wonder why they like it under the tree? (Are your cats inside only cats?)

I do have to say that I feel it's very early to have everything up....but know that with the end of term things going on I won't be a)in the mood to get the tree out and b)will be too busy, so figured I might as well do it when I had the time ;-)

As for the shopping- HA! what shopping! LOL-- nope, haven't done a thing. Seriously!!

I've seen Jack 'batting' a couple of the ornaments-- have the spray bottle on hand!! I can't imagine your cats climbing the tree, no wonder you need to put it into a base!

Our new owners, not the workaholic twins, gave us Friday off too, so I was able to put the tree up. I just took a picture a while ago since DH hasn't had a tree up in his house years ago. I'll have to download it and post it. It's on a table, my short tree from apartment dwelling days, but I think it's a good thing with the dog and three cats.

I should hang the rest of the garlands and stuff today since I'm here alone for now. DH went golfing. Our first Sunday afternoon with no real projects and neither of his kids home, and I'm sick with a bad cold, but he goes golfing. Honeymoon's over.

I am happy that the tree is up. Now I can do the other little touches like the table and garlands maybe today or this week. Since I haven't decorated here before, I'm not quite sure what I want to do with some of the stuff yet.

We put up our tree yesterday and today we just finished putting up our outside lights. Anxious for it to get dark so we can see how they look. I have not wrapped any presents, though I did organize and dig up all the paper I bought last year @the after Xmas sale.

Funny to find this thread -- I just now finished putting up my little (3-foot) fake tree (it's got the fiber optic lights and has WAY too many ornaments considering how small it is) and thought I was putting it up early but I guess not! Funny too about all our cats ... my cat Sullivan immediately started eating the fake needles as soon as I took the tree out of the box. Luckily last year my cats didn't try to climb or destroy the tree, so hopefully they'll be good this year too. Maybe I'll get a pic up of my tree in a bit.

IG, your tree looks great! Love your kitty under it too.

Rainey, I just got my list together for gifts and cards, do don't feel too bad about sorting out your already bought gifts ;-)

I did write some Xmas cards (the ones I send to Ireland) to send off this week. Anyone get any cards yet?

I hadn't realized how many of us had cats! And they all love the tree, lol!! Love the name Sullivan! Last year Shadow (Mom) was pretty good about the tree too, but she's so different from Jack-- he's just all over the place. Right now his new thing is to jump on top of the kitchen cabinets and knock off the baskets, one by one!! Brat!
