Magic formula for diet success eludes us

This is the final article in our newspapers "Fat Nation" series where they looked at a variety of diet/fitness/health issues related to our increasing weight as a society.

"Studies suggest it takes almost obsessive behaviour to be a successful loser. "
I've been thinking so much about this lately. Is being obsessive about everything good. I keep hoping eventually it will be come second nature and I won't have to think so much about it. Some how I associate the obsessive behavior as negative that it is putting even more undo stress on my psycholigical well being. Seems like such a viscious circle which I feel like is a bad thing but sounds like that's the way it has to be???
I totally agree. And then I feel resentful that I should have to track what I eat, and I overdo it. Kind of "I'll show them" thing. Brilliant. My hips are loving that train of thought. LOL
But in all honesty we've gotten into such bad habits that I think we will need to be a little more obsessive about what we eat to get into those good habits.
Siiggghhhhh.
