Low Cal meals on Airplanes

Was wondering if anyone has had a low cal meal on a plane. I am considering taking the option, but am curious are the meals on plane high calorie or are they standard calorie? I don't want to go too hungry, but then again I don't want to be a little piggy either and find out I ate 1000 calories for a tiny little meal. Any suggestions?

A meal on a plane... what's that? lol Seriously though - I've only been offered to "purchase" the snack box - guess my flights weren't long enough to be offered a meal. Does the airline have a website where you can get an idea of what the meals are?

Monestf, I'm not sure what the meals would be like. Maybe the thing to do would be to try it, but bring some additional snacks on teh plane in case it is truly measly!

I am going with BA, and have read what they have. But would love to know what the caloric difference between the standard and the low cal. It's a 13hr flight and I don't want to get snippy cuz I have not eaten enough; I am sure the same goes for my bf. And I wonder, are their meals healthy - I doubt it, but curious none the less. I cannot find anything that tells you what their health standards are at all.

Ok....now nobody bite my head off.....my Mom was a stewardess for years, so I've seen (and eaten) A LOT of airline food. Plus I've done many the long haul flight over the oceans. I think that in the past couple of years the airlines have improved their foods, if not for at least taste.

I just saw, on another search, where BA is noted for having great vegan meals....meaning to me that their 'regular' meals would be just as good. They also serve a "well being" meal option. http://www.britishairways.com/travel/healthwb/public/en_gb

Ah- I knew there would be a meal page: http://www.britishairways.com/travel/meals/public/en_gb

You could also go to the "My Booking" page and ask them directly. You're right, it does seem hard to find anything more specific.
