Just because I'm sorting through some computer issues lately, I thought I'd ask...(all relating to your own personal computer, if applicable)
1. When did you first get a computer?
2. How did you learn how to use a computer?
3. Are you good with computers, ie. fixing problems?
4. What do you mainly use your computer for?
5. How many email accounts do you have?

1) Just got one in 2003.
2) My SO showed me how to get started, then I learned on my own.
3) No, I'm terrible with computers, SO has to fix it, even minor problems.
4) Surf the net.
5) Two.
1. When did you first get a computer? I'm not sure 8 years ago???
2. How did you learn how to use a computer? I've used computers since high school but came more knowledgeable when I was taking classes back in the late 90s.
3. Are you good with computers, ie. fixing problems? I'm okay, use to be my job when I worked at a bank but have gotten a little rusty over the last couple of years.
4. What do you mainly use your computer for? Work and leisure equally.
5. How many email accounts do you have? I have two main ones my work email and a yahoo account but probably have 1/2 a dozen through other sites that I don't use like gmail, iVillage, etc.
1) Not sure when I got my first one. Sometime in highschool. Though, before that my cousin who lived next door got a Commedore 64 whenever those came out and I started learning then.
2) My cous showed me then I read the manual that came with it. Since then I'm pretty good on my own but the help/instructions that come with programs can really teach you a lot. And I was a Comp Sci major in college.
3) Very good. I have friends who run a computer repair business who are better though. If I get stuck I call them.
4) Surfing, shopping, research for school papers, games, kids entertainment, work.
5) Four. One from my internet provider, one on yahoo, one through the U, one

3. Are you good with computers, ie. fixing problems?
About 50/50....and when I get into dire trouble, call the old roommate, who's now up in MI!!

1. When did you first get a computer?
I think we had a very basic computer back in the 80's at home, mainly for games, and in school we learned some programming using LOGO (I think).
2. How did you learn how to use a computer?
At school and then at each of my jobs I would learn a new program or teach myself a new program.
3. Are you good with computers, ie. fixing problems?
Yup pretty good. I can add new components like hard drives and memory (which I keep taking from all our old computers, LOL), and have had to wipe clean and reinstall everything a number of times. I do troubleshooting and some maintenance at work too, and at one of my jobs I was a network administrator for a small network.
4. What do you mainly use your computer for?
Hmmm, work, email, visiting boards. I'm also taking a computer class right now, so for homework too!
5. How many email accounts do you have?
I have 2 at work, 2 at home, and like Gretchen probably numerous from different sites I've signed up to.

1. When did you first get a computer?
The family had one since about 86 or so, however, I got my first one in 96.
2. How did you learn how to use a computer?
Trial and error.
3. Are you good with computers, ie. fixing problems?
Depends on what I'm fixing. Hardware, I could install things, but not troubleshoot them. Software, I can usually figure out what is going on, but not always. I tried to install Windows, boy that was a joke. My mom gets upset (not really) with me and my brother cuz we can't fix her computer. Prob is, he went to school for networking, I went for programming. Neither of that means we can fix her software issues. lol.
4. What do you mainly use your computer for?
I don't know if there's a "mainly". I use it for school, for my web stuff, to be creative, for my dig camera, for work, for personal things (budget, letters, etc).
5. How many email accounts do you have?
Way too many. I currently use 1 work and 3 personal. Although, I know I have about 5 other addy's that I don't use as much. I'm an email addict. lol.
1. When did you first get a computer? My home has always had a computer (since I was very young ) which I've used. I got my own computer in 1998, so now I have one and my dh has one.
2. How did you learn how to use a computer? my dad taught me
3. Are you good with computers, ie. fixing problems? software issues pretty much yes, hardware no, I turn to dh for those
4. What do you mainly use your computer for? school
5. How many email accounts do you have? 3, 4 if you count the one at work
