QOTW- Fitness Gifts........

This week our CM asked us if we thought that fitness related gifts were appropriate- here's what she had to say:
Are exercise related presents appropriate?

Good question. I think they are appropriate.
I don't ask for many. Last year I got a treadmill and was glad to have it. This year I'm not asking for anything but would like a nice set of weights. Just the hand kind that are like 2, 5, & 10 lbs. Other than that I don't want nothing fitness related. lol
I would be appreciative if I got something I didn't ask for but the chances of me using it are less. Plus I'd wouldn't want only health/fitness stuff.
This one just takes some common sence:
The book "YOU on a diet"
I think it depends on whether you asked for it or not. I mean an unbidden exercise related gift might send the wrong message.
"A Thigh-Master honey? How sweet." LOL
It also depends on how sensitive that person is. If they are particularly sensitive about their weight then I think you have to consider that when buying a gift. Of course there are some people who will take any gift the wrong way, so just be prepared!

My thoughts are pretty much the same as the rest of you- if I asked for it I probably want it, if I didn't I probably don't LOL! I think it's a fine line, especially when it comes to someone else's weight. (It's like the post monesf posted about comments on what you're eating)
I almost bought a friend of mine a book on heatlh, and then thought better of it; don't want her to feel I think she needs to take better care of herself. She doesn't; I just thought she'd enjoy the book. I got her a 'manicure' Burt's Bees bag instead. I did get another good friend of mine a book about Yoga-- I think I'm pretty safe with that one :-)
