replacement for soda drinks?????

Hi I am totally addicted to soda pop. If I could give it up for a couple of days I think I would be fine. Is there anything besides diet that I could do to slowly wean myself off pop? I am also craving chocolate all the time--I use to only crave it around that time of the month. I feel so crazy. Thanks--Kris

Hey kristina, I used to be "addicted" to Dr. Pepper. I still hve one occasionally, but my new addiction is Crystal Light.....I buy the wal-mart brand. I love the fruit punch and raspberry ice. It is the only way I can get my water intake daily. I hate the taste of plain water so with it, I get the best of both worlds....no calories and 80-90 oz of water a day.....I know cutting back on soda is tough...I just dont buy it, that way I am not tempted to get into the fridge and have "just one can" here and there.....just my opinion, hope it helps.....

I wish I could help!!! lol I need suggestions too. I'm hopelessly addicted to diet Mt. Dew at the moment. I try to keep it under 24 oz. a day and try to get in at least 60 oz. of water.
My first suggestions is to slowly limit your intake. For example if your drinking in 24 oz. of soda a day start cutting back to 20 oz. and so on.
Welcome to the board!! I agree with Froggy (also welcome to the board!!) Crystal Light is a great alternative. If it is the carbonation you are craving, buy bottles of sparkling water and make up 1/2 bottle of crystal light and fill the rest up with sparkling water! It is a great alternative to pop!
First off, welcome to the board Kris and Christina!
I'm one of the ones also addicted to soda. I just love the bubbles, so Miranda your suggestion of 'fizzy' water is a good one-- though it's a little pricey. Wonder what seltzer would be like with crystal light?
With regards to crystal light- I use them too. I get the single packs, and just add them to my bottles of water. I'm not big into the really sweet ones though, so get the tea and lemonade ones.
As for the chocolate-- the monthly cravings hit down here too. I *try* to be real strong when out shopping and spot them just sitting there ;-)
THANKS to Shelly at the CWG messageboard for my signature!

Just plain seltzer water works fine! I just get the no-name brand sparkling water here because it comes in good sized bottles, and is reasonably priced.
