I can't commit

I'm 33 and every month I say "I'm going to lose weight starting today". I've started a diet several times. My last one where I saw the pounds melt off was the "No sugar/No chocolate" diet.
I have rosacea which makes working out in a gym or outside out of the question. My landlord lives downstairs and I can't run and jump on the second floor. I do have an exercise bike and a treadmill.
The only time that's a good time to work-out is when I wake-up but I'm not a person who likes to wake-up in the a.m. If I could wake up an hour earlier and work-out I would lose weight.
Why am I so lazy? I need some inspiration people. What have you got? Too much stuff goes on during the day and I can't commit to a work-out schedule in the afternoon (my ideal time to work-out).
What can make a morning routine not so boring ?(ok. keep it clean! HA HA! I know what you're thinking. No dirty jokes there --of course my husband wouldn't object).
P.S. I'm 180 lbs. I want to be 145 and stay there forever.

Hi and welcome! I'm JJ. Also 33.
I have a hard time committing too!!! If I can get an exercise routine worked out then I eat horribly or I eat well and don't exercise.
I too want to get up an hour early because this truly would be the best time but I HATE getting up a second before I have too. I know this is the answer just not sure how to make that choice to just do it.
I agree with JJ start small make little changes and when you master one add another.
Welcome Ibosgirl1973!! Motivation is a tough one, and one that I certainly haven't mastered yet! LOL
I think that some of the suggestions on starting with baby steps is a good one. I don't think that you have to start with eating health and THEN go onto exercising or vice versa. It is really about what you think you will have success doing. If you find that it is your eating habits that continually throw you off track then try making some small changes in your diet like adding more fruit and vegetables or drinking more water. If it is the fact that you aren't very active, don't force yourself to get up an hour earlier in the morning, just start off getting up 10 minutes earlier to fit in some jumping jacks and crunches and work your way up. Or commit to using that treadmill or bike before you sit down after dinner. I know once I sit down it's like my butt is glued to the couch for the night! LOL
I'm going to post some other links to conversations we've had on this board about motivation as well!
MOTIVATION is a topic that comes up often, either for new board members or others who are feeling that they are losing their motivation!

In high school I lost 30lbs over one summer with vigorous exercise and dieting. I realized I was borderline anorexic and I think that's why I'm afraid to work-out because once I get in the habit I may take it too far.
I'm comitted to waking up an hour earlier and walking on the treadmill. I'll be starting a nurses' aide job soon and I'm sure I'll drop 10 lbs very quickly then.
Thanks, and Merry Christmas
Dee
Hi ibosgirl! I'm new to the boards, but I saw your message and boy can I relate! It's very difficult to stay motivated. What has helped me was keeping an open mind...and organic food. I know it sounds silly and I'm not talking about tofu or soybeans. Just choosing minimally processed foods and starting with that, I felt SO much better. It really helped me launch into my exercise routines very quickly...I felt so good, it was actually easy to work out. It makes sense, but it's still a little amazing how much all the processed foods really keep us in a slump. My diet now consists of about 85-90% organic food and I feel physically ill when I cheat, which helps keep me on track too!
As far as exercise goes, it's so easy to get bored. I have a lot of different things that I like to do so that I can just pick what I'm in the mood for. Some days, I'm in the mood to stay in bed, and that's ok. But most days, I alternate between pilates, yoga, running, biking. I find my body feels differently with each activity, so I just listen to my body and follow its lead. Also, if you have cable tv, there are often "on-demand" exercise programs available. You can really add a lot of variety by utilizing a feature in your tv!
I hope you find what you need to make your goals a reality soon!
Hugs, Jen
