Anyone try these for motivation?

I think old pics are great motivators. I have one of me from 4 years ago, I looked somewhat small! I don't know how much I weighed at the time, but it just goes to show how interesting hindsight can be. I also keep a pair of jeans to see how loose they get or tight if it goes the other way. I am sure I am looking better, have been told it by people, and scale is going down, but I won't believe it till years ahead of now when I see a few pics. ;) In 15 more pds I will have a take a few more.

By the way, kickboxing has always been a quick body tone up for me. So if you are sick of the mag, try out a class or two. I looked my best when I was doing it and I recall seeing results after two weeks. There are not any classes here, so I am doing cardio and weights, which should also achieve similar results.

I have been thinking about something like that too! A before picture, a right now picture, then an after picture. I have photos of myself at 115 and I really looke like a different girl at 145. Maybe because of my height 5'4" 30 pounds is like night and day. I use to be over 160 and I looked really "matronely". Pounds tend to also put "years" on me. I also thought about putting a tight dress or a bathing suit on myself and then take a picture every 2 weeks to track how my body changes. It could be pretty interesting. The 140 pound mark has always been my trouble spot. I managed to lose 20 pounds already and I keep telling myself if I did that already I have a shot at atleast losing 20 more. The pictures would be good motivation.

With my schedule and where I live, classes are out of the question.

There are some great dvd's or tapes you can get. My old instructers did one and it was the same as we did in class. I found this one on Amazon.com, Kickboxing for Dummies. From the description and review comments it might be what you are looking for. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000H1RFIM/ref=pd_cp_d_title/102-2660957-6392144

I do actually use this method- though don't have a before picture.....I've a picture I look at that was taken yonks ago (I was about 25), and looked good- when feeling completely unmotivated I take it out to remind myself of where I 'can' be!
