1. What events shaped your life in 2006?
We had a lot of tragedy in my family this year, I think this made me look at life a little differently, hold onto my family a little tighter, cherish moments a little better, hang out with my friends a little more, say yes to more invitations and laugh a little more
2. How about you proudest/biggest achievement of the year?
Paying off a large chunk of debt
3. Did you keep any of your new year's resolutions? (Here's a link to our post from last year about resolutions: http://messageboards.ivillage.com/iv-fbfitthirty/?msg=10329.1 )
LOL Oh phew I didn't make any so no I didn't have to keep any. LOL
4. What is your fondest memory of 2006?
Saying goodbye to it with my friend Wendie and her beautiful family it was great!
5. What are you looking forward to most in the new year?
Getting in shape, paying off the rest of my debt
Smile,
Deirdre
1. What events shaped your life in 2006? Moving toward completing grad school, integrating exercise more into my daily life, letting go of some relationships it was high time to let go of and strengthening others.
So, I have come crawling back tot he board... : ) and the first post I see is this one, and went back and reserached my resolutions last year. It was pretty satisfying to read this!!! (and my Express Yourself account has apparently been shut down...so I can even bold and make it look cool).
(2006)Are you happy with how this year has gone?
For the most part I am. I've let some things go this year, but all in all - it's been a good year for me!
(2007) It was a great year, actually...
(2006) Have you been thinking about changes you'll make in 2006?
Yep, have thought a lot about some changes for a long time now. There may just be big changes in the coming year!
(2007) I SO MADE THOSE CHANGES THAT TOOK ME TOO LONG TO MAKE!!!
1. What events shaped your life in 2006? I dumped the toxic relationship that had made me quite thin, but a complete and total basketcase and looking back on it, don't even know the person that I was!! Oh, and then I bought a house...and then I bought a car! And for most of the year... I was in a great friendship, wished (but it never came to be) that I'd have the feelings I needed to make it a relationship, but ultimately got to see what I think I will want someday in a relationship!!
2. How about you proudest/biggest achievement of the year?
The house...because it really sealed the deal on my independence. I'm proud that I have a house, with land...and maintain it very well so far. Even bigger accomplishment than that, is that I'm learning to ask for help when I need it.
3. Did you keep any of your new year's resolutions? Didn't really make any...
4. What is your fondest memory of 2006? Vacations...I was lucky enough to take 2 REALLY fantastic trips. And appreciated them more than I have appreciated vacations in the past.
5. What are you looking forward to most in the new year? Getting back in shape and the opportunities that I hope to create with my work.
Hey STeffy!! Good to see you back here, and even better to see that 2006 was a good year for you!
1. What events shaped your life in 2006?
Hmm, I think our move to Edmonton from a smaller community and Matt's change of school. It made such a huge difference to us to have him happy and give us a new start!
2. How about you proudest/biggest achievement of the year?
Hmm. Not sure that anything stands out as an accomplishment. I think that the fact that I did a lot of research into schools and found the perfect fit for Matt so that he could enjoy school again was a big one for me.
