The dog ate my homework. My email crashed. My mother-in-law was in town. What's the best (made-up) excuse you've ever come up with to get out of something? And did it work, or did you get caught? :)

I don't know about really imaginative excuses, I just generally use the "I'm sick" excuse.

BUT, I do have an email from one of our employees who calls in sick/working from home about 50% of the time:

I am working from home today as I am being extremely biatchy due to ridiculous monthly feminine rituals.

Yup, that's the actual email.

LOL

I agree Darla.....I'd rather tell the truth than have to keep track of lies!! I think it goes back to a time when I did get caught in a lie- told a friend I was staying in, when in fact I was going out, but just didn't want to go out with her. Well.......of course she came in. I felt so bad, it was the last time I lied to get out of something I didn't want to do!!
