As everyone here is so fond of saying... Moderation is the key! And knowing ahead of time is great.

I checked their site and the Asiago Bagel (cheese bagel) is 360 calories.

Sounds like you have a plan already Darla--- and a good one too! They do sound like a *treat* I wouldn't want to miss out on either...I'm not a huge bagel fan, but the Asiago and 'soft' had me sold ;-)

Good Luck with the plan of action!!

I love bagels and miss them living in England. They have them here, however they are not the same soft chewy ones you can get back in the states. Noahs Bagels are the bomb. However, I do recall that bagels are not as high calorie as one might think. As long as you skip the smear or go easy on it you should be fine. Besides 1500 calories is alot of calories to eat in one day; so really 360 is not even one third of your total daily allowance. I say enjoy the whole bagel and maybe have a small lunch or forgoe glass of wine. The way I look at it, if you don't think you can give up bagels forever, then you shouldn't give them up now.

I shall be dreaming of your bagel breakfast - so enjoy it a little bit more for those of us who get seem to get a good bagel and smear. :)

I know this is a bit wasteful, but when people give me snacks I sometimes take it, say thanks and then throw away what I don't want to eat when they're not looking. That way I'm only left with 1/2 or whatever portion is reasonable, and I'm sure not to go digging through my garbage for the rest! LOL

Sounds like you have a good plan in place! Panera does have great bagels. I empathize -- where I used to work people brought in Krispy Kremes every Friday. It's amazing how people can pressure you to eat in a workplace! Hope it goes well.
