Just wanted to say good for you for not splurging too much and eating a whole one. We have Panera Bread here, is that the same as the bagels? Remind me NOT to go there ever. hehehe. Keep up the good work.

Don't say NO! I lost 30 pounds by NOT DIETING!! My issue was SUGAR, but I allowed myself one sweet item per week! Also, I was able to have one piece of bread per day! Have half a bagel and don't sweat it. Try to pick a wheat bagel or cinnamon raisen without anything on it. The other trick I had to use when I started, was I would take a one bite of something I really wanted and I would throw the rest away - at least I didn't totally deny myself of at least tasting it. It was also empowering to throw it away!! After awhile, you actually stop craving carbs as much, swear!

I also starting training for triathlons and lost even more weight. Sign up for a training class to do a race; bike race, running race, etc. Now that I train for triathlons I eat all the carbs I want (healthy carbs). Just an option to consider. I was a book worm growing up, hated to exercise, but I learned how much fun it is to be fit!

Eat half a bagel!

Grizgirl... Eat the bagel. I've learned that the more you try to avoid the temptation to eat something, the more you want it. You should still eat what you enjoy, just do it in moderation. So, eat healthy, low-fat meals often and set aside one or two days during the week to eat what you really love. If you continue exercising and eating right most of the week then there should be no problem with eating your "once a week bagel". There are far worse things to eat, such as my weakness, Popeyes chicken.

I did find, help by Vanessa (thanks girl), smaller bagels from Thomas English Muffin folks.
