I was just thinking about all the diet books, and all the advice that seems to be thrown at you if you mention you're on a diet, or trying to eat sensibly, or mention anything about food in general!

I'm sure we've all had our share of good AND bad advice, so let's share it!! LOL

What is the best diet advice you've ever received?

What is the best diet advice you've ever received?

I think logging my food, and drinking water. When I do it consistently, it does make a huge difference!

I think the apple cider vinegar craze. It was this putrid mixture of apple cider vinegar and some other stuff, and it was supposed to help 'cleanse' and revitalize your system, and it was disgusting! LOL

Moderation is the key. It is not all or nothing.

Didn't try it. My BF and coworkers were doing the low carb diet and kept telling me I HAD to cut carbs or wouldn't lose weight. I told them I could lose weight eating nothing but twinkies so long as I didn't eat too many.

Well I have PCOS and am insulin resistant so low carb/low or no sugar is best for me, gosh when I cut down on carbs and go whole grain the weight just falls off. I just have to be deligent about it.

Best: Burn more than you consume. Worst: Stop eating fruit. It's so BAD for you. Eat more bacon, sausage and ranch dressing. *guess what plan they were on? and on, and on, and on, and on....

Best: If it tastes good, spit it out!! hahaha.... seriusly. Pay close attention and stop eating when you're full. It's hard to do ~ but WORKS!!

Worst: The atkins diet. I know that it works very well for some. And I've never been one to try every diet that comes along ~ but I tried that and after 3 weeks, my nails were breaking and my hair getting thinner.
