Guess what?!?! DH said "yes" to buying an elliptical machine. SOOOOO...........it's been ordered. I have no idea when it'll come, but hopefully it won't be too long.
My PT doctor, told me no running. So that threw out my "best" exercise. He okay'd elliptical, walking, recumbant bike however. DH and I were at the sporting good store and saw some. I wasn't serious about getting one, however, I know if I had something "at home" I'd exercise more. It's just the way I am. I don't think anything is going to stop that whole anxiety and feeling strange of going to a gym.
Anyhow. So, the one I wanted, and the one we both liked, was like $800. Ouch. It was a decent one. pretty good reviews. I got it at HSN for like $550!!! So, DH said, "go for it, buy it. ONLY if you're going to USE it". So I promised to get on it, at least 15 mins a day, 5-6 days a week. I also promised him it won't turn into a clothes rack for at least a year, or until I hit 130. :)
Hey, gotta justify that purchase, right?
I'm excited though. He knows I used to work out a lot more when I could do in the privacy of my own home. And I know I will too. So, now, I just need to make room for that huge thing. LOL.

IG - well, i still appreciate not rubbing it in my face, although it hit the 80's the other day. WEIRD WEIRD weather. :)
Yay, it shipped today!!!!
Whoo hoo!
Let us know when it arrives!
Keep us posted how the "put together" part goes.
Yippee!! When I got mine, I had Matt put it together. I convinced him that this was like "adult lego" LOL.
Thanks Darla. :) I don't think I should tell DH it's only a "guideline" he may never read them then. lol. I don't really want "spare" parts. LOL
Miranda, that's too funny. How old was Matt at the time? Adult lego's, too funny.

I tried to post, but iV was acting up. I couldn't get it to work. AUGH!!! I was so excited I wanted to post all about it after we set it up.
So, here's my VERY long story.
We had our day set-up. 9am tee time, 12:30pm see some houses (with a real estate agent), 2-4pm, they'll deliver the elliptical. we'll set it up, go grab some dinner, hang out.
boy, it did NOT work out like that at all. I thought our tee time was at 8:30, so we were there early. They let us go on though, luckily. The shipping company called me at 10am while I was on the course, asked if we were home so they could deliver RIGHT NOW. WTF!! No. lol. I told him I was on the golf course. I figured, we could get home in 1.5 hours, so they'd come back.
We didn't get to finish our round (of 9 holes) and took off. They didn't come until 12:30, right when the REA showed up. Ugh. We had them deliver it to our garage and took off to with the REA. Since we had all the time in the world, this man showed us the world. lol. 4 hours later, we got home. We brought up the elliptical in pieces to our apt (third floor), nearly died, then went to go eat dinner. Came back and started setting it up.
Sheesh, it took a LOT longer than anticipated. Oh, btw. I got a model up from the one I saw at the sporting good store, so I was all excited. Especially since it was still $400 cheaper. :)
Anyhow. It took about 3 hours. Set-up was pretty easy. Some of the stupid screws didn't want to cooperate, but overall, it was done, we moved in into place and I hopped on. VERY COOL. It worked. We went to bed. lol.
Sunday, I hopped on it, and realized the console wasn't working. Bleah. K was determined to figure it out, but we had to take off. So, later that night, after about an hour of him working on it, he found the problem, fixed it, and TA DA!!! The console worked (it wasn't reading time, rpm, etc). I went on it for a bit. I love it.
I didn't wake up this morning, and in fact, I'm EXHAUSTED. Not sure if it was from the TONS of homes we saw, that all had stairs, being out in the HOT sun on sunday, or using the elliptical, or what. I'm sitting here drinking caffeniated tea. and still falling asleep. DH said "you didn't work out" and I said, this is why I wanted one, because I'll do it tonight. after dinner, after we go shopping, I'll jump on for 10-15 mins (trying to build up the stamina, that thing wears me out. lol)
overall, I truly love it. It's quiet, it's smooth. It's wonderful. I am truly loving this elliptical. I told DH my goal is to be down to 140 before we go to Hawaii. Anything less is a bonus. I also said I'm going on that sucker for at LEAST 15 mins a day, 6 days a week. I figured, that's not a lot and I can do it before I shower, etc. I will up the time later. I also have to incorporate weights into this, so we'll see how all that goes. :) I just need to get a routine down now.
thanks for reading. i'm truly even more excited now.
Cher - that's AWESOME that you got the elliptical up and running and your 1st workout already under your belt - you'll be at your goal in no time!
