We all know we should be drinking at least 64oz of water per day- but do we do it?

How much (on average) water do you drink each day?

How do you drink your water- flavored, straight up, with ice, etc...

Is there a time of day when you drink more? Less? Something else?

I really don't know. I drink a decent amount though. Sometimes I get very absorbed in my work and forget food, drink until I feel sick.

I take water often just straight but best with ice....never ever flavored. I've always preferred water over anything else.

I drink more water in the evening. I have more immediate access. Occassionally I'll have a beer, it depends if I can't stop thinking about work or if the weather is perfect:)

Between 40 and 60....really am trying to keep that water bottle handy at work!

Straight up (from a 60oz bottle I fill at work, I have a 20oz one here at home to use too). Sometimes when I'm low on my water intake for that day, and realize it later....I'll do a flavor pack in there. I also don't like real cold water, so leave mine out- not room temp, but warmer than straight from the fridge!

Is there a time of day when you drink more? Less? Something else?
More water during school time! Coffee in the morning- diet coke in the evening (or beer if I go out).

During the work week anywhere from 64 to 84 ounces, on the weekends between 30 and 40.

Usually straight up. I also like sparkling water - no flavor. Sometimes I'll use Crystal Light but that's more in the summer.

I drink a ton at work - I keep a bottle full by my monitor. On the weekend I just never seem to carry a water bottle, and keep my coffee mug handy instead!

It's interesting to see when we all drink our water, we all seem to have a time when we drink more of it!
Here's an article I found:

If I were asked, "what is the most difficult thing many people find to do when they start a weight-loss program?", I would have to say right near the top of the list is this - they don't drink enough water!

Few people realise at first just how essential water is to the success of their weight-loss program. In fact, the essential place of water in our diet extends to everyone - whether they want to lose weight, gain weight or stay the same weight! We all know we can't live without water, but just why is it so important? Well there are many reasons. Read on and discover why water can help your loss weight and why it is your essential life-force.

Apart from 60-70% of your body being composed of water, water has an extensive range of functions essential to life.

  • Assists digestion, absorption and assimilation of food. If you don't drink enough water you can't get the full benefit of nutrients in the food you eat.

  • Assists excretion of waste from bowel and kidneys. If you don't drink enough water you get constipated and put your kidneys under stress.

  • Regulates body temperature. If you don't drink enough water you compromise the evaporation process you skin uses to keep you cool.

  • Your blood is 92% water. This is your body's transport system distributing nutrients around the body.

  • Body secretions and digestive juices are almost entirely water.

Why should you drink water when you want to lose weight?
