Hungry again!

I'm curious about how long it takes for people to get hungry after eating.
I can have a full breakfast at say 7:30am and by 10:30am I'm uncomfortably hungry. Usually, I hold out for lunch time(12:00pm) but then get sucked into something at work and next thing I know it's 1:30 and I'm not feeling good at all. After eating a decent lunch I'll be hungry again by 3:30pm.

Granted I'm active, but considering what I'm eating, it seems like a pretty short time span for the hunger pangs to kick in.
What's your experience?

My appetite really changes from day to day, but typically it goes something like this:

Breakfast: 7am'ish- something lightish (cereal, toast, etc...)

Snack: 6.30'ish- again nothing too heavy (some fruit and something carby, usually)

Lunch: noon'ish- this is where it really switches up. Sometimes I'm starving, sometimes I'm not. I do try to have at least a little something even on the not so hungry days- may just be some fruit or veggies.

Snack: (if hungry) anytime between 3 and 5'ish

Dinner: 7.30'ish

*Water* is always a good quencher, even when a little peckish!

Now of course there are days that don't look like this at all, but like Darla, I like to stick to smaller increments through the day.

Hope that helps~

Great question!

I find that it depends on what I've eaten, if I've been stuffing my face with processed carbs all day I can be hungry every 15 minutes!!

This is how I normally eat at work:

5:45 to 6:15-ish: Breakfast (1/3 cup each of Just Right cereal, Fruit & Fibre, Kashi Go Lean) and

I find that if I dont eat something at least every 2 1/2 hours I am starving and usually grab something bad for me!Even a few carrots or granola bar will pass the hunger, but i try and stick to mini carrots and celery!Small boxes of raisins are great too!!!

My weekday plan pretty much looks like evryone else's.

On the mornings I workout at 5:15, I'll usually have a piece of wheat toast or 1/2 a whole wheat mini bagel around 7, then about 10 I have my coffee and

My two cents (on top of my OTHER two cents, LOL) would be that increased fibre and fat (the good kind) seems to keep me more satisfied that if I am eating low fat/low fibre.

When I'm being really good and eating on target those are the days where generally I take in less calories, but feel more satisfied at the end of the day hunger wise.

Thanks for the input.

BTW, those aren't small "meals" in my book - that's straight quick snacks LOL
