Hey I'm 30 years old and I go to the gym to workout I'm like 5"4" and a 3rd and I weigh 212 I go a few times a week to the gym to walk on the treadmill at 3.4 speed for at least 45 min but the most of my fat is in my tummy how do I get rid of that? Or is walking on the treadmill going to work? Let me know what I can do.

Research has found that spot toning does not occur; but the more weight you lose the smaller your tummy will become. I would say that you need to keep up your cardio work out and maybe add some weight training as well. Also, by adjusting your posture, you will benefit from not only looking fitter, but you are bound to strengthen your stomach muscles as you will have to keep them pulled in for the better part of the day. Lastly, I did read that Renee Zellwelgar (sp?) used to do sit ups whilst watching tv; during the commercials. So when you are in front of the tele, instead of taking a break for the fridge, get on the floor and do some sit ups; you will at least be burning calories and strengthening your muscles.
Good luck!
Welcome to the board! Monestf has given you some great advice. And you are certainly on the right track! Great job on getting to the gym so regularly!
The trick to losing fat of course, is cardio training. You have to burn that fat off. You can do this by doing any type of cardio exercise.
Here's some info on cardio and why we need it:

Next up would be toning and resistance training. Pilates or yoga may be something you want to look into as they both work your core muscles, and Monetsf was right - improving your posture can give you a whole new look. BUT improving posture isn't always as easy as simply standing up tall. A lot of times we've neglected those groups of muscles that pull everything in, so you have to really work on toning those muscle groups. Another option might be to find some videos that focus on core work to do at home.
Remember, you didn't gain weight over night, and it isn't going to disappear overnight (I'd be overjoyed if it did! LOL). So slow and steady really does win the race in this case!
Of course, coming here and chatting with all the wonderful women on the board can always be a huge step in your weight loss journey as well!!
Welcome to the Board! I agree with monestf and Miranda. I've heard that the spot toning does not work on fat - you
