Hey ladies (and gents if you're out there!)
April 22 is Earth Day - are any of you celebrating? How about for those of you with kiddies in school? Do you have anything planned?
Our kids are likely growing up to be more environmentally aware than we were at their age. I was giving some thought as to how we can connect our 'green efforts' to our 'fitness efforts' and here's what I came up with:
Walk and Roll - maybe make an effort to go carless for the day if you can, ride your bikes, walk, roller blade, let's ditch the cars to keep the air clean and our legs looking fabulous!
Get Greening - gardening is a great way to (a) renew our environment, and (b) work those arms and legs - digging and planting is hard work! Plant a tree or bush, or even some lovely flowers!
Water, Water Everywhere - Collect that rain water, and instead of watering your garden from the hose try to use rain water instead! There are some wonderful rain barrels out there that even have spigots built into them for hooking up hoses!
Recycle - don't toss, recycle! Pack up those papers, or those bottles and haul them to the recycling depot! Not only do you save space in the landfills, but lifting up those recycling materials and hauling them to the depot must give your arms a good workout!
Join a Clean Up crew - some areas have local 'keep your city clean' crews that do spring clean up! Get your kids involved picking up the garbage to keep your city clean! It will get you moving and make your area beautiful!

It's some sort of Nature Day for the Scouts so Kevin is taking them out for that. I think they're doing hiking and bike riding...
