Well it's Mother's Day this Sunday so we'll have a mom-related Friday Five!

The mom from the Cosby show who was always just the right balance of mom-ness and professional woman, Marmee from Little Women, and I'm not sure who else!

2) Name a TV/Book/Movie Mom that you would NEVER want to have as your own

Of course, Joan Crawford from Mommy Dearest, the mom from Jeannette Wells' The Glass Castle, the mom from Pride and Prejudice, I can think of loads!

3) What mom-phrase do you remember from your childhood?

I actually don't remember a lot of mom-phrases, but there are a few from my gram that I giggle at - "I've got a little job I just know you'll love ..." that was when she wanted us to polish the silver. Or even though she's been living in Canada (from England) since 1950 or so, every winter we hear "What's a nice english girl like me doing in a god-foresaken place like this?" LOL

4) What's the best advice your mom gave you?

Not advice really, but my mom always has been a role model in terms of going out and doing things whether that's her political work, her volunteer work, going back to

2) Name a TV/Book/Movie Mom that you would NEVER want to have as your own

Only one I can think of right now is the Mom from "Married...with Children"

3) What mom-phrase do you remember from your childhood?

"You'll get the back of my hand" (ie. a spanking....which never did happen, oh no once- she tried to hit me with the wooden spoon, and it broke. We ended up having a good laugh at it instead!!

4) What's the best advice your mom gave you?

Be polite!

5) And of course ... What color underwear do you have on today - would your mom approve? ;-)

Green and yellow flowery ones- think Mom would think they were a little 'loud' LOL

1) Name a TV/Book/Movie Mom that you would like to have as your own The mom from Gilmore girls - she was a "cool" mom lol

2) Name a TV/Book/Movie Mom that you would NEVER want to have as your own Mommie Dearest - was it Joan Crawford?

3) What mom-phrase do you remember from your childhood? Because I'm your mom and I'm telling you to...

4) What's the best advice your mom gave you? Always have your own bank accounts, credit cards, etc in your own name - you never know what could happen. (My mom got married at 19, didn't work, everything was in my dads name and 18 years later when they divorced she had NO credit history at age 38 and had to start from scratch)

5) And of course ... What color underwear do you have on today - would your mom approve? ;-) Lt Blue w/ little polka dots and hearts. Nope - I wear thongs to work and she hates 'em! lol

I really liked Diane Keaton's character in Family Stone.
