Hi there, I was reading some of your posts and I hope you don't mind if I join in. I am a 33 year old mother of a 12 alomost 13 year old son. I am doing the C25K program and I just completed W1. I am trying to stay motivated and keep working toward my goal. I was looking for 1 or 1000 people to talk with and stay motivated with. I think everyone in my life is getting really sick of me constantly talking about running and my program and I was hoping to find someone to is as excited about it as I am.
I have lost a total 16 pounds so far and my goal is about 10 pounds away. I started losing weight last fall and I think I have been doing it the right way with working hard, walking and eating right so I hope it stays off for good. I used to be a speed walker (about 10 years ago) and then I don't know what happened. Seems like life got busy, we moved into the country and suddenly I no longer walked anymore. I have always wanted to be a runner so I set a goal to start on Mother's Day and now here I am. I live in Wisconsin and I have to run on the road. I usually get up at about 5:30 in the morning and get started.
I am just so excited about getting fit and the goals I have. I saw another poster who has a 5K planned for August and I do as well. I should be able to run a 5K by the 2nd week in July so by August I hope to be comfortable with it.
Anyway, I would love to get to know everyone, what your goals are and what you have achieved. Good luck to everyone and I hope to get to know you.

Hi Carey!
My name is Darla and Congrats on the loss of weight!

Hey there, great to meet you! I can relate with the dog thing. We have a 5 year old yellow lab, 1/2 way through my workout she always sits down! I have to coax her to get moving....this morning I just pulled on her leash and she kept going. I think the dog was gaining waight along with me except she does not have the ambition to lose it LOL
I was thinking of using a tape measure. I look forward to hearing your progress and I might just start doing that. A good friend of mine has Lupus and she is doing just what you are exercising to lessen her pain.
I look forward to updates from you as well!

Nice to meet you Carey! I try to run and I think my last spurt lasted over 2 months. Then life gets in the way. Hope to get back at tomorrow actually. Starting off slow walking more than running probably but being an off and on again runner doesn't take too long to get up to speed.
Just started getting up at 5:30 am to get my workouts in. Uuugh!! I've been fighting it for a long time but realistically it's the best time for me.
Your enthusiasm is infectious!!
Carey,
I have some of my progress on my blog since I need to be organized.
Hi.
