Alli - anyone going to try it?

Excuse this post if you guys already talked about it. I did a quick scan, but didn't see anything.
I love how it tells you that you need to eat sensibly, exercise, and basically change your lifestyle. I have been reading reviews on it, and wow, if you don't keep under the 15% fat, it really lets you know via your stools. gross. but at least you'll think twice about eating a lot of fat. lol
I was thinking about it, as it says it helps you lose up to double what you would've normally lost. I can use a boost. Especially after my 5lb weight gain in the past 5 days. gross.

I am so tempted, but too afraid. I am afraid it will end up like the phen-phen thing a few years back. Wasn't that a weight loss deal?

I saw it the other day at the pharmacy- right on their counter. Looked interesting, but like Rebecca, I too am wary of any of those sorts of pills.
If you go see your doctor (or perhaps even your PT (are you still doing that?))- you could ask them about it first. The web is a great place for research, but I really think talking to someone IRL is always better ;-)

I have not read much about this but I know they are really pushing it all my local newspapers ads, had specials on it and I went to Cvs and they had a huge display of them and there was only like 2 bottles left. i guesss evryone is out there trying to lsoe weight, even if it works you still have to make adjustments in your way of life and I think most people just want to take a pill and be done. Most of you know i went to a weigth loss doctor and did get prescribed appetite suppresant, it gave me the boost the I needed to lose weight, but I had to to eat 1200 calories a day and exercise at least 3 times a week, which I did, more like 5-6 hours a week. I lost a lot of weight and so I had a cousin ask me how I did it I recommended her to the same doctor.

Oh, I so agree. I was curious as to what everyone thought. Like that whole phen-fen thing, I wonder too. I mean, it's basically a low dose of another prescription pill. but does that mean it's safe? not really.
As rainey said, it's all about working for it. I was thinking about asking my doctor about it, or about exercise and nutrition in general (see if my HMO had nutrition classes or something), because as much as I know what is healthy, etc, I want to know what is good for me, etc. I hate how everything is good one day, and bad the next. Did you hear the latest about soy? It's still good for you, but the hype about helping cholesterol isn't true. {shaking head} what's next?
ETA: I thought I'd see if anyone was trying it on the diet pill board. There are a handful. So if you wanna see their progress, check it out: http://messageboards.ivillage.com/iv-bhrxpills
I saw that they have a book or two, I may start there, see what it says. I mean, w/o the pill, nutrition books, if written right for me, are helpful. most aren't, cuz it's just a ton of recipes or something.
Just thought I'd let everyone know that this diet drug has been on the market (by prescription only) for many years.
