Morning Workouts and cooling down

I have been working out in the morning. I noticed, I'll workout, cool down, relax, take a shower. Then as I'm getting ready, all I'm doing is sweating. I have even tried having a fan on in the bathroom as I get ready. Ohmigod. I am sweating from the time I brush my teeth to the time I get in my car. It's kinda gross. I'm not dripping sweating, but I am dewed up.
For those that workout in the morning, how do you cool down, to the point where you're not all sweaty, before you head off to work? Or are you like me? Cooling off in the car and hoping you don't smell. lol.
Just curious. I never really worked out in the morning, so typically I'm cooling down at night, before I head off to sleep and have at least an hour before bedtime.
I'm liking this morning workout bit, but the sweating, jeez, not liking getting dressed when I'm sticky and going to work sticky and sweaty. yuck.

Well, we generally aren't that warm here - but how about taking a cooler shower, and then not towelling off completely but getting dressed in front of a fan. Or how about working out, doing what else you have to do, and showering a bit later in the morning? Maybe your body temperature is still on the rise for a while after your workout, so if you can have breakfast or make lunches, and do whatever and THEN shower might that work?
Well, that is true. It is warmer here :P I will give that a whirl. At this point, I'm game for anything. I'll workout a bit earlier, relax, eat breakfast, give my body time to truly cool down before hopping in the shower. I'd assume that cold shower or not, my body just isn't cooled down anyways.
Another thing I'm thinking of doing is getting ready in the second bathroom. Because then it wouldn't be warm/humid from the shower and yup, use that fan.
Maybe that'll at least make it easier. I also think that it's just warm to begin with. Usually, our house is in the high 60's when I wake up, lately though, it's in thelow 70's. Big difference for me.
Oh Cher.....you'd never make it down here- at the moment it's about 82, in the morning- winters are about 74 (brrrr....LOL)
I'd agree with Miranda, get the other 'stuff' done before the (cool) shower, and have that fan ready to go!
That's one of the reasons I don't like to workout in the mornings- I'd have to be up far too early in order to have time to cool down before heading into a roomful of kids!!
Do you have a/c, or is that w/out a/c?

Yup, I sure wouldn't. I know when I go to Hawaii, I do acclimate, but I couldn't imagine wearing anything but shorts, tank tops, and slippers while there. I did have to somewhat dress up for my Grandma's funeral, and boy I was glad the tradewinds were BLOWING!!! Cuz it was warm!!!
Oh, that's without a/c. But, I am hoping to figure out why it's not working right. We have to replace the filter first and go from there. Maybe I can run it in the morning, then turn it off. We've been trying to see how it'll be w/o a/c. All I can say is, with a mild summer, like our mild spring, not too bad. but I think we're supposed to have a heat wave this week. yuck.
Ok, this may sound crazy...but, have you tried taking warmer showers?
The only reason I ask is because when I'm really cold at work (our office is often freezing) a coworker told me to try taking cold showers before coming in.
Funny you say that. I was thinking about that this morning. What if I made it warmer and kept it like that, then when I got out, I'd be cooling down.
Honestly, I'll give it a whirl. It can't hurt to try all of these things. :) Heck, maybe I need to combine them all.
I switch my morning around so that I have a few extra minutes before getting in the shower.

Deirdre
Thanks Sonia and Dee (btw, Dee, how's NH so far?)
Today, I tried a combination of both. I worked out, then while eating breakfast, relaxed for about 15-20 mins. I took a warmer shower. Ovearll, I wasn't sweating quite AS much, but still sweating. I'm
Cher, my ex was a huge sweater. It was disgusting. He would go for a run and then come home dripping, he always swore he had to wait for about 20 minutes to half an hour before showering because he was still sweating and he needed to cool down before he hopped in the shower. So maybe more time is just what you need.
