I am so upset, not only have I broken bones in my wrist, but I have Chicken Pox!
Does anyone know, what is the worse stage?

{gentle hugs} that is!

I had chicken pox when I was about 18, and the worst stage was when the rash was at it's peak as I simply couldn't bare not to scratch, but it was so painful when I did.

Oatmeal baths, benedryl, calamine lotion, cool showers, I used them all to get through it.

I'm sending you

{{{GOOD LUCK VIBES}}} (so maybe this is the end of your string of lousy luck!)

OHMIGOD!!! You poor thing. Big big hugs to you. That's horrible. I don't know what is the worst, however, I know the itching is the worst, so heed Miranda's advice and get all those things. Or have someone get it for you. Try not to scratch/pick at them, because they do leave some ugly scars.

Hugs hugs hugs.....from far far away. ;)

Aw......I'm so sorry to hear that! Is it pox or shingles? A friend of mine and myself had this discussion a couple of weeks ago; can adults get the chicken pox or is it referred to as shingles, or are shingles just something we (might) get as adults if we've had chicken pox as a kid?

Anyways....back to you~

Take care, heed MommyMiranda's advice- she's a woman full of wisdom! Perhaps pick up a pair of mittens too ;-)

I'm so sorry. I can't imagine how miserable you must feel right now. I must agree with everyone else, the itching is the worst, and even harder is to try not to scratch. Heed Miranda's advice, it will get you through.

Its actual Chicken Pox as an adult. I was wondering, which is the itchiess stage, the blisters or the scabs, I just want to be mentally prepared.

Here's some info:

As for stages-

The chickenpox rash passes through a number of stages.

  • Pre-rash symptoms can include headache, fever, sore throat, backache and a general feeling of being unwell.

  • Small, itchy, reddish spots on the skin surface then form. This rash often appears on the face and scalp first and then spreads to the chest, arms and legs. The time between catching the virus and the appearance of the rash - known as the incubation period - is usually about 11-20 days.

  • The spots go on to form raised papules (a pimple-like skin rash). These can develop into small blisters called vesicles. The vesicles are filled with clear fluid.

  • Finally, the vesicles form into pustules (spots with pus in) which crust over and heal, usually in less than 16 days.

I would think that the stage where "PAPULES" form is when the itchiness begins, but I don't know for sure. None of the sites I checked had a note about the itchiness factor. But here's some info on Controlling Itching

Hmmm, I can't remember now which part was the worst, but as the other ladies have said - don't pick or scratch! I still have a few scars from not heeding that advice! LOL

Thanks for the feedback. Good news, have managed to lose more weight! So perhaps this was a blessing in disguise!
