Finally accepting my 30+ changes..R U??

So...here I am 36 y.o and a wife/ mother of 2 lovely children. So recently I've been noticing changes with my body. Until now, my Dr. would always say "at your age...I wouldn't worry about that". Now he doesn't say that anymore. He says things like "well now your body needs more fiber" and my dermatologist actually prescribed an "anti aging" moisturizer. My OB GYN actually sent me for my "baseline" mammogram. I've resisted this mostly because I have always been healthy. Always avoided medication on the belief that my body should be able to heal itself naturally. But now, I'm coming to terms with some facts and some realities like I'm 36 and my body needs some boosters like fibre, more exercise, water and maybe even the "anti aging" moisturizer.

Most recently I had my very first unfortunate abnormal PAP result. For those familiar iwht this, it was an ASCUS result with NEGATIVE HPV so it seems I will be OK but it's been that experience that has put my "mortality" in front of my face and jump started me to facing the fact that at 36, I really need to give my body whatever help it needs to stay happy and healthy.

So...I'm starting to drink more water, excersize and increase my fibre intake. I'm no longer skipping lotion after my shower. I'm washing my face before bed and yes...I'm following up with the anti aging moisturizer. Small start but a start none the less. I'd be happy to hear about some things that are working for you girls. I'm glad I found this board!!!

Hi there Nykko- and welcome to the 30's board!

Ah yes, the changes that are happening to our bodies, wonderful aren't they? I started my 'take care' journey just after I turned 30....

Welcome to the board Nykko!! I say embrace those changes! While your 30's have the potential to bring angst and all sorts of changes, it also brings a new found confidence and contentment with who and what you are!

I think you are definitely on the right track in terms of the changes you are making! I too had my first abnormal Pap in my 30's and while it is nerve wracking, it's good to know we have the means to take control of our health issues and work towards those positive outcomes! I had to go for the first mammogram too - geez, what a week! Abnormal cells in the

Welcome to the Board! Well... being one of the "older" ladies on the Board (I just turned 39 - yikes) I've been doing a lot of those things for some time. I think I started using an actual "eye cream" the day I hit 30! lol I've always exercised OFF and on but HAVE to better about it now that it's harder to "maintain" let alone LOSE any weight. And the lovely mammograms... my sis was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 30 so I've had to get a yearly mammo since I was 32 because of the family history....
