QOTW 12/4- The Game Plan

Ok....so the season is just getting underway.... and before we railroad ourselves into disaster let's think about a few things that cause the hiccup and some things that can relieve them!
During this time of year what's your biggest downfall? Is it the eating, is the lack of time for 'you', is it the mountains of parties and whatnot you'll be invited to?

It's basically a lack of willpower - I just allow myself to be swept along eating goodies and not working out and using "It's the holidays" as an excuse.
What do you do to 'help' yourself during this time of year? Schedule everything (like our list lover Miranda), become more strict on yourself than usual?
I do try to make lists {gasp - surprise!} but I also strive to take it one day at a time and not let one bad day railroad my efforts.
Tell us one thing you're going to be stringent about this season...
I am going to force myself to get outside and be a bit more active instead of holing up while the weather is nasty!
For me I get caught up in...'OH, I only get to have this one time a year so I am going to enjoy it' and then I don't just have one piece of something I have the whole thing. I will just have to remember to eat small amounts and see how I do this year and then make adjustments for next year.

I'm one of those people that can walk by a desk, pick up a cookie then go to another dept and eat a brownie and then later "try" something a co-worker made and brought in and then by then end of the day forget what I've put in my mouth and can't figure out why I feel sick! lol
What do you do to 'help' yourself during this time of year? Schedule everything (like our list lover Miranda), become more strict on yourself than usual? I TRY to up my workouts but this year I'm really going to try to track all those extra calories I'm taking in! Good luck to me on that one! lol

For me its the lack fo time, My Dh is not a shopper plus he works a lot of

I'm a little like Miranda on this one, where it simply falls on the shoulders of my willpower. Wanting to do the fun things, like meeting friends, and in doing so hurting my chances of doing "that" workout 'tomorrow' etc.... Foodwise I don't (usually) do too badly with.

Well from reading the above note you can see that I don't usually 'help' myself around this time of year. This year *will* be different!!!

Getting those workouts in as early in the day as possible, especially during my vacation time.

It's the complete lack of time for exercise.

During this time of year what's your biggest downfall? Is it the eating, is the lack of time for 'you', is it the mountains of parties and whatnot you'll be invited to? Like most people, it's the food at the parties or the cookies that mom makes, although she's not making much this year. She and dad are working on their eating habits since both are beginning the battle with heart disease. But at parties or at people's houses, I think "well, I hardly ever eat cookies or cake or drink eggnog..." or whatever it is.
