Food is very under control there Gretchen- how's everything else for you? You've been sort of MIA recently...so just wondering.

Well I've been kind of half hearted about my fitness and health lately. Not eating poorly or anythiing just burned out a little maybe??

Understandable Gretchen-- sometimes a little break from it all does a body good too- just don't stray too far from us!

Hey Gretchen, sorry to hear you are feeling down and burned out. Maybe taking some time to refocus is just what the doctor ordered. {{{HUGS}}}

Happy 4th of July!

Okay, think I'm ready to hop back on the wagon.

I'm going to try to lose 1 lb. a week. So I figure I have to come up with steps to reach that goal. So three things I can do each day seems like a good way to start.

1. Get up at 5:30 am and get in a 10 to 20 minute workout.

2. 30 minutes of exercise a day minimum (150 minutes total for the week).

3. Keep calorie intake to approx. 1400 calories.

Plus, of course, keep the water intake over 60 oz. a day.

Good for you Gretchen- a break can be a good thing, but take it for too long and you (seem) to forget all the rules you learned....good to have you *back* with us!

07/09

Okay who am I kidding I'm not going to get up at 5:30 in the morning!! So I have to think of something else as a step to take to reach my goal.

Goal: Lose 1 lb. a week (start weight 135)

1. Exercise: (30/150)
07/09 - 30 minute walk

2. Food: (1400)
07/09 - 1493 Fat: 32%, Carb: 46%, Prot: 22%, Fiber 26 grams

3. Water: (60 oz. +)
07/09 - 60 oz.

I'm having a hard time coming up with a 3rd step. I need to buy some vitamins so I guess I'll start there.

Finally got some exercise and I hated just about every minute of it. I walked one of the pre programed workouts on my treadmill. It goes between a 3% to a 5% incline. Harder than you'd think! Suppose to be at 3.5 mph for most of it but I cheated and moved it down to 3.3 mph. 3.5 Just a little too quick for me. Then half way through I went down to 3 mph.

Food wise I feel pretty good. I shouldn't had a handful of chocolate chips. I would have been just a little over my goal if I hadn't. Now I know.

Gretchen- looks like your day was a great one :-)
I hear you on the whole 'get up early' thing......I make little deals with myself while lying in bed at night-- come morning time though.....well that's another story!! But you did make the time to get on the treadmill, and even though you hated every minute of it you did it- and I'm sure after you were done there was a smile on your face. Right?

Have a great day today too!
