Vanessa that is fantastic!!!!! Whoo hoo!! What are the differences in benefits? Is it the same work? What a busy month for you - don't stress too much over what you can and can't do this month is going to fly by for you!

Well - the main one to begin with - 100% PAID health insurance for me AND the kids, ALL the federal holidays off (instead of the 6 I currently have, well 5 - they took the 4th of July from us this year). Vacation, sick AND personal days (never had personal days before). The office is closed the week between Christmas and New Years so I'll be able to go home to Seattle every year without having to use vacation days! Monthly transportation reimburement, dependent care account, tuition reimbursement... I think those are the MAIN ones I can remember. Oh yeah - and STRAIGHT 9-5 job - NO MORE LONG HOURS! PLUS a free gym IN THE BUILDING so after I get acclimated to the job I want to start working out at lunch!

July 1 - July 14 - didn't track but am going to try to end the month on a positive note!

Hey Vanessa, so is Bill looking for work in Maryland? Does he have any kids that are in Seattle? I know I'm being nosy, just give me a slap on the hand if I'm TOO nosy! LOL

You know, I'm actually thinking of doing a trip to Seattle for my 40th birthday. I have always thought I'd love living there, and I've also always wanted to check out Pike Place. I figure a trip to the headquarters of Starbucks will be my own trip to Mecca. I'll walk around the block 7 times and throw rocks at the building. LOL

Well he's mentioned to his boss earlier this year his plan to move here so they may be able to transfer him within the organization. He's also recently started looking on-line for government jobs in DC!

He doesn't have any kids which is why he would move here (I don't want to take my kids 3,000 miles away from their father) but I told him the minute my kids go to college we can move back to Seattle (by then our parents will be old enough that we may actually need to be there anyway lol)

I'm amazed at all the changes Seattle has been through but
