Chase Disney Card Question

We are planning on using our points in the park in August. Should I go ahead and order a reward card with 20 points now and just have points added to it a few weeks before we leave?

This will be my first time using my points for anything and I am hoping to rack up a few hundred more before we go....can't beat renovating your house yourself with a credit card that doesn't have any interest for over a year...and points to boot! LOL

Thanks in advance for the advice.:>

I am not sure what you mean about adding to it. When we redeemed our points(230) they sent us a credit card with our points. It took about 2wks for the card to come. We were able to use them at most places at WDW(food and souvineers) we have about 16 left, you have one year to use them once issued. Kelly

Here's what I was told today. I called to order my rewards card. I was hoping that more points had been racked up, but no, I still had 193. She said that I would have more points after midnight tomorrow night. She is mailing out my rewards card today, and I should receive it next week. Then, I will have to call to activate it. At that time, I can add the points (she didn't tell me how many more I'd have) that have accrued since then. They do it over the phone, and I don't have to wait for a new card.

HTH!

Thanks!

I was thinking it probably worked something like that...being able to add more points to a card via phone or internet, but I wasn't sure.

I figured it would probably be best to get a reward card sometime in the near future and just add the remaining points to it a week or two before we leave...that way I won't be a panic about the card showing up. LOL

Yes, Rhonda, that's the best way.

Just be careful! Unless they've changed it (which is possible, I haven't read the papers from it lately), when I ordered my card for our 2004 trip, I ordered it in early August and the points on it expired a few months later. That may have changed since 2004, but make sure when you call before you ask them to send it to you. Mine didn't activate when I used it the first time, it was activated when they sent it out.

"One thing you should know, while your Chase Disney Visa statement will track the Reward Dollars you earn and then transfer to the Rewards Card, once they're on the card, Chase will stop tracking them. That's up to you! The receipts for most places at WDW would show the remaining balance on the card after using it, but some didn't. So make sure you keep track."

No, you didn't confuse me at all....you did answer a question DH had about the tracking of the points left on the card though! LOL

If you don't mind one more question...If you buy something that is over your points what happens? Do you just have to come up with the cash for the remaining amount?

Thanks,

Glad I didn't confuse you! LOL Yes, you must come up with cash or a credit card, if accepted, to pay the remainder.
