Ok, here is the deal. I want to be able to experience new things this year. BUT, I don't want to plan my whole vacation. I know adr's are important for the meals we really want to eat, but for the rest......Basically I don't want to plan my days around the meal. Does this make any sense??? Here is what we have so far:

Day 1- ADR- Whispering Canyon (dinner)
Day 2- Crystal Palace (breakfast)
Day 3- Mickey's BBQ (dinner)
Day 4- Hollywood and Vine Fantasmic
Day 5- none
Day 6- None
Day 7- none
Day 8- Boma (dinner
Day 9- CRT (lunch)
Day 10- None
Day 11- None

We will cash in our mypoints for Rainforest Cafe gift certificates. We also have the voucher for Planet Hollywood. I don't know that we will use it because well, I wouldn't eat there otherwise. I would like to try the Rose and Crowne, but it seems like it is booked for every day I have open. What do you think? Are there glaring admissions? I am on the fence about Crystal Palace. My children are older but the parade seems like fun for them.

I am open to suggestions please!

I guess the question is, when are you going? I am assuming this summer.
We booked on the free dining deal for a trip at the end of September. If you are going during the free dining time, I would make as many ADR's as you have. It is by number of nights if you have the plan. I made mine last night and got every thing I wanted. DH thinks I am crazy trying to pick restaurants 5 months ahead of time and trying to plan but that is what has to be done. I know what you mean about planning the day around meals. I pretty much went by what park had EMH and went from there. We have park hoppers, so we are free to roam.

Good Luck!

We are going the end of May/June. We have the days scheduled around the park emh days as well. Not to mention the three days we will spend at the studios. I hope we do well enough in the trivia that we won't have to spend all three days there...........Did I just type that????????

We do one sit down meal each day, there has been an extra character meal or two I wanted to do, so a couple days of a trip we might have two ADRs.

The Crystal Palace breakfast is my favorite meal of the whole trip. I wouldn't miss it, if you can convince your family to do it. The food is always hot and fresh, and it's such a magical way to start the day. We get an 8:05 or 8:10 ADR and are done eating just as the park opens, so it's still easy to get through Fantasyland before the crowds get huge.

As far as other suggestions, we enjoyed the Garden Grill, Marrakesh (Morrocco) and San Angel Inn (Mexico) at Epcot. 50's Prime Time is another favorite at MGM.

Do you have the dining plan? If so, make sure you have an ADR for each day, or else you'll wind up with leftover ts credits. If not, nothing says you have to do a sit-down every day if you don't want to.

Let us know what you decide!

Crystal Palace is at 8:05. It isn't an emh day so we will be able to enter before it opens. We couldn't justify the cost of the dining plan. We have five in our family and well you can do the math. :) We were there last year at the same time and we didn't eat more than one big meal a day. We also stuck to light breakfasts and such.

I am also on the fence about a couple more places:
Liberty Tree Tavern
Garden Grill
We plan to go back to the Trails End on one of our MK days. It is just a quick boat ride away.

Dh likes food a lot. He told me for all he cares the rest of the meals can be cs meals.

I think it all depends on your family's style and how you eat.

Thank you for your response! I just do not want to overplan. The Rose and Crowne I have held out on because we want to get a seating for Illuminations. Although I don't know why because it is going to be late!

I really am contemplating the LTT. It just seems like a lot of fun. I am of course willing to do a few more character meals. It is just hard to not go overboard. :O I better make some decisions though. We don't have much time left...............Yipppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Overboard??? What's that????

Ha! We did seven character meals in a nine-day trip in 2004, what's this overboard you're talking about? Never heard of it!!!
