My advice is to go to Magic Kingdom. There are more rides for your age group there. To do character meet-n-greets they are spaced out all over the parks. It depends on which characters you want to see. When my kids were 2 or younger they were really upset when they see a full costume character. The princesses were a safer bet for them not to cry. The meet-n-greets are where you pick a line for the character and then when you get to them, take pictures and time for some small talk. There are also character meals, but they can be costly. The type of hotel depends on what you are thinking? On property? Price range? Views, location, etc. Disney is currently offering their dining plan for free if you stay on property during mid-AUg to the end of Sept. I hope this helps. Kelly

Walt Disney World in Florida is 47 square miles consisting of 4 theme parks, 2 water parks, a down town area and close to 30 resorts, plus plenty of space in between, the town of Celebration is also owned by Disney. (or incorporated or whatever the legal term is.)

Disney is offering a great deal for the end of September,(free dining)

Thank You for the great info! So now, where do I go to book ADR and rooms? The price of rooms isnt that big of a deal since its only 1 night....3 days free dining what is that about and when exactly is it? That probably means that everything will be crowded....Once again , Thank You !

Congratulations! I think you will love it. My ds was 2 almost exactly when we first took him; dd was 22 months. Ds was sick the entire time, so we won't talk about him, but dd thoroughly enjoyed her first trip.

I would definitely stay onsite. If you don't have a specific day that you're working in, I would try to find out when Magic Kingdom has EMH (extra magic hours). You either get in the park an hour early, or you can stay up to 3 hours later. That will give you more time to see and do what you want.

As for ADRs (advanced dining reservations), I would definitely make one if you're planning to eat at a "restaurant" instead of fast food (counter service). If the kids like the Pooh characters, you should try Crystal Palace. If not, the Liberty Tree Tavern is open for dinner with characters (Mickey and crew). I don't think they'd care to eat at the castle with princesses, plus, you probably can't get ADRs now. And BTW, you can go ahead and make them now, as it's less than 180 days until Sept.

Once you make a few decisions on when and where, come back to the board for more specific questions.

HTH!

Another thing you could do is get a park hopper pass, go to Magic Kingdom and Epcot. The little ones would like Turltle Talk and get to see the Living Seas, and your famer Dad would probably enjoy The Land. If you stayed at the Contemporary hotel transportation would be easy as the mono-rail goes through it and the will take you to both Magic Kingdom and Epcot.

Have Fun!!
