do you park hop?

In keeping w/ my ticket purchasing question--do you park hop?? If so, do you think you would miss it if you didn't?

I just rechecked 5 day ticket prices. Seems we could get a 5 day, w/ an additional day for free, for $202/164. The 5 day w/ the hopper is $233/197. We need 3 at the adult price, & 1 at the child's rate.

Our original "plan" was the 5 day hopper. Buy tickets for MNSSHP & have that be our "6th" day(night, really). On our last day, we thought we would park hop to everyone's favorite ride/must see one more time thing--not sure if that is realistic or not.

However, I am now thinking that if we did the 5 + 1 tickets, the $$ we save could be used elsewhere.

Any thoughts???
Thanks~Chris

I love the option of not being "stuck" at a park all day.

Animal Kingdom isn't a full day affair, and it usually closes early. EPCOT can get boring for young ones, so you can head to your hotel for a cool off in the pool, then head to MK in time for the parade! THen you can head back to EPCOT another 1/2 day and do the same thing (Ore start in MAgic Kingdon, then head over to EPCOT.

You can plan your days around the EMH so that you avoid the EMH park in the morning , but may choose to go there later when the crowds ease up (I scheduled a crystal palace breakfast at 8:10 AM the morning that EMH is at AK...when we are done eating, we will just about have the park to ourselves since the gates do not open until 9!)

One of our days we are going to MGM for a couple hours int eh moring (Return trip) then doign down town disney in the afternoon including dinner, then gino to EMH at Animal Kingdom.

BUT you know your family best!!! If they will not like to "lose time" (IT is nice to take a break just in the transfers between the parks!) then it may not be worth it for your family!

GOod luck with your decision!!

We LOVE to park hop; I would feel very restricted if we didn't have park hoppers.

I would miss park-hopping if we didn't do it. Mike even agrees that we will definitely pay the extra for the park-hopping option.

The only park that I wouldn't feel "trapped" at to do a whole day at just one park is MK.

Now, Epcot is my & Aly's favorite park and there is more than a whole day's worth of activities for us there, but I've always found it so much easier to do half days there because of the walking involved. In fact, when we go in December, the other parks close early, but Epcot stays open until 9:30 every night, so on a few of our trips, we actually ended almost every day at Epcot.

AK can also take a whole day, but I get aggravated with it (not sure why), so I've found that's easier to break up, too.

MGM, there's just not enough to keep me there for an entire day.

We *almost* bought the straight non-hopping tickets last year, and I am SO GLAD we didn't!! I like to have the ability to hop, even if it is only once or twice. We did split a few days...we did MK in the a.m. and Epcot in the p.m. We made dining plans in Epcot twice, but didn't want to do two full days there. That's when the hopping comes in handy!

We've had all kinds of different tickets over the years...I liked the "length of stay" passes the best. But at any rate, we've always had a hopping option and I wouldn't do it any other way.

We ALWAYS hop and would not do it any other way. We've tried and it's a recipe for disaster with my family. There are some (rare) days that we end up at 3 parks in one day for various reasons. We typically spend the morning at one park, take a break and spend the afternoon at a different park.

We do park hop, and I wouldn't want to go without the hopper unless there was no other option. One reason is that you never know if the park is going to be really crowded, and if you get there and it is, if you don't have a hopper you're just stuck. Yes there are crowds almost all the time, but we walked in MK one day last year and it was wall to wall people, and I was glad to go elsewhere. The other thing is that AK closes early, and if you don't have the hopper, you're done for the rest of the day. That might not be a bad thing, but we like to stay in the parks as long as we can most nights. It just gives you more options. We also like to have dinner at Epcot, and if we don't start at Epcot in the morning, without the park hopper, we can't do that.

There's no right or wrong, but that's my 2 cents worth!

Thank you so much for your thoughts & ideas!!! I am now realizing just how wonderful it will be to be able to park hop:). I love hearing the "been there, done that" stories!

We are staying off-site, at a time share resort which my parents swapped for us. Definitely looking forward to it:).

Thanks again~Chris

If I'm recalling correctly, City Pass is a southern California thing only for DisneyLAND. The only thing similar (and may not exist anymore) in Florida was a packet of tickets for Universal/Sea World/Wet n Wild, and other non-Disney parks.

Yes, I just looked it up. It includes 3 days to Disneyland/California Adventure and 1 day each to San Diego Zoo, Sea World San Diego, & Universal Studios Hollywood.
