How do you carry your gear?

How do you carry your gear? I always take a camera and autograph books with us. We also take snacks inside as well. ;) I don't want to take too much stuff in but i don't want to miss an opportunity for pictures either. We are taking our stroller with us but i don't want to leave the valuables inside it. Last year, we had a built in helper that we are going to miss a lot. On the other hand we are going to have a different experience without him if you kwim. :D Anyway, I was looking at a Baggalini which is offered with a discount through mousesavers. Does anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks!

Btw, the third hand carried the backpack for us. Lol

What we do will probably be of no help to you whatsover since you're trying to lighten your load..lol.

We have a backpack that we keep waters, snacks, extra camera accessories (batteries, tapes, film, charger), change of clothes, and, if necessary, lightweight jackets. I try to keep it light.

Then, we have a camera bag. It's a Kolcraft mini-diaper bag, fully-insulated, and much to my surprise--waterproof when zipped, EVEN IN DOWNPOURS! (I thought I lost EVERYTHING...video camera, still camera, Aly's cheap still camera, cell phone, and film & videos on our 2002 trip, but it was COMPLETELY dry inside!) In this bag, I keep the actual cameras, but I keep this light because until recently, it didn't have a rubber or pad strap protector and it could really cut into your shoulder. I do have a rubber strap protector on it now, though.

THEN, I keep a fanny pack. In here, I keep things like cash, credit card, IDs, resort key, keys, park tickets, autograph book & jumbo crayons, ink pen, and medicine. I love my fanny pack. It was cheap and it's bright pink, but it has 3 pockets. Oh, actually, I keep 4 rolls of film in the front pocket of my fanny pack, not in my backpack. Then, there's the major pocket, and the back pocket which is perfect for the important things.

I keep the fanny pack, and usually the backpack. Mike usually carries the camera bag.

Alysha, you sound like us! I have a good sized backpack that Alan got as an employee thing from work that has really come in handy.

Sonya,

Just curious -- what are the pressed penny coins for? Are they just extra pennies to put into those roller-machine thingies that will turn it into a neat keepsake coin?

Yep, that's it, we carry the quarters and pennies stacked quarter quarter penny quarter quarter penny in a mini M&M tube. My daughters LOVE them. In fact Kaitlyn has printed off the unofficial master list and marks off which ones she has and keeps track. Once we make a pressed penny it goes in a ziploc bag in the diaper bag until we get back to the room where she put it into the pressed penny book.

I have a Vera Bradley backpack that I use as a purse at home. I used it in WDW and just modified my wallet (smaller wallet, only one credit card and my license, etc.). I put my essentials in this bag (including folded up ponchos). My boys wore "fanny packs" and had their autograph books, a snack, their lanyards, etc. in their own pack. I have a small camcorder and digital camera, and those fit in a small camera case that my DH carried, but I could have if needed.

It was always easier when we used a stroller, because I'd leave everything in the basket except valuables. Now with no stroller, we've learned to travel lightly.

Hmm I haven't counted, but the list, at an 8 pt font, printed front and back separated by parks and resorts (so some spacing) is 9 pages (4 are front to back and 1 single).
