Somebody help me decide! (m)

I'm really having a difficult time deciding where to dine during our October trip. We'll do the dining plan (too bad free ends in September) and will be staying 5 nights (though I'm flexible - we may add a night if the Fall promo is great). So that gives us 5 table service credits for each of us (me, DH, DD (6) and DS (9)).
We already have the HDDR booked - we'll be dining with my Dad and Step-mom in celebration of his 75th birthday. (Really, his b'day is the following month - we'll just celebrate in Disney). That takes 2 TS credits for each of us.
I want to do some character meals - and have decided dinner would be the most "effective" use of our plan. I was thinking of the Liberty Tree Tavern, because the "classic" characters are there. I've heard some raves about the food - and I've also seen it panned. So you can't go by reviews...but for the classic Disney characters, that appears to be our best choice. (BTW - we did breakfast at O'Hana in '03 and loved it, but I am less thrilled about Lilo and Stitch, and we won't be at the Poly anyway). So we're down 1 more credit each. Remaining: 2 TS credits.
Here's where things get sticky. I've got a "princess" so I want to dine with princesses. I had planned on using the 2 TS credits on dinner at the castle. I hemmed and hawed over using 2 credits for it, but had finally decided to do it. *THEN* I started reading reviews that were less than stellar. At least they were very mixed. The main thing, though, is that it appears that you only see Cindy in the lobby and no other princesses come through. Just the Fairy Godmother, Suzy and Perla -or that is the info I've seen. I decided that to justify 2 TS credits, the food would have to be outstanding AND we'd need some "princess action".
So - I decided on just doing the PSB in Norway. We did this in '03 and really enjoyed it. The BEST video footage of that trip was at that breakfast. Of course, DD was 3 then and TOTALLY sold on these girls being the REAL thing. Buuuuut.... I wonder if we'll always WISH we did the castle.
Now - if we do the castle, that would be the end of our credits; but if we went back to Norway, we'd have an additional so we could go to WCC (we'll be staying at the WL) - not to say that we couldn't pay OOP; but still...oh - and I would LOVE to try Chefs de France. And I'm thinking we might try Boma for breakfast OOP. The less we have to pay OOP, of course, the better.
I guess I just need somebody to say "It's OK not to try the castle". OR - if you've been to the new Cinderella's Royal Dinner or whatever - and have more reliable info on the "show" and who's there - let me know.
I've got to call on Thursday for my ADRs and I'm starting to panic.

Have you checked the menus at allearsnet.com?
It's ok to not do the castle! But why don't you try 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian for Cinderella and Prince Charming? I've never been, but I've heard good things!
Also, if you are looking for Mickey and the gang, I suggest Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary. We love it there! We've only done dinner, and we think it's a blast!
We've never eaten at the WCC, but our friends did on our last trip (we traveled together, but split up for some meals) and they raved about it. It's on our list for our next trip!
And our family loves BOMA for dinner. YUMMY!
Good luck...don't stress!! It's Disney!

Hi Tracie,
Congrats on going to Disney world!!!!! Here are good selections to keep both your son and daughter happy. In magic Kingdom, yes of course the castle is a GREAT choice but a little pricey with it being 2 table services now, and the only reason it is now 2 table services is becaue they take a picture of all of you or just the kids with Cindy and also because of the popularity. Here are just a few rest. that we love to eat at.
Magic Kingdom
Liberty Tree Tavern - Old American style Character Dinner (Minnie Goofy Chip and Dale)
Crystal Palace - Great if you like Winnie the Pooh and his friends
Epcot
Garden Grill - The rest rotates around living with the land (Farmer MIckey and Friends)
Norway - Has the "Princesses" But for the lunch and dinner the food seemed alittle odd to us but breakfast was great.
Outside of the parks
Contemporary Chef Mickeys - Great Buffet and the main Characters are there
Beach Club - Cape May Cafe - GREAT SEAFOOD BUFFET - Mickey in beach clothing with some friends.
Of course there are tons of great non-character meals but these are just some of our fav ones t do. If I had to pick just two I would go with Cape May Cafe or Garden Grill. To check on all the menus and pics of resorts allearsnet.com does an awesome job of all that. We are goin to WDW in Spet and WE got the free dining YAHOO. Where are you staying at Port Orleans French Quarter and then it's off on the 10 night Disney Cruise.
Ireally hope I helped
